Fire Arts and Flow Arts are performance arts that have captivated audiences throughout history. For me, Fire Arts embodies a fusion of mindfulness, dance, and martial arts. I love to perform and use this medium to express myself. During undergrad, I actively participated in the Olin Fire Arts Club, as well as attended master classes at the Spinning Arts Foundation's Wildfire. I spent my free time learning tosses, tricks and how to escape tangles. Although this activity seems dangerous, it is only ~kind of~ dangerous. Fire safety is important, a successful Fire Arts experience requires the artist to wear clothes that are natural fibers (and won't melt onto your skin) and rely on safety spotters. Through the Olin club, I engaged in numerous performances on Olin/Wellesley campuses and across the broader Boston community.

LED performance in the rain, but I enjoyed the choreography so much that I wanted to share it. Fire does not work well in the rain, which is why for safety reasons this Olin Alumni Weekend Performance was changed last minute.
