I am currently taking a mix of science, math, and history classes that are helping me build important skills for the future. In medical terminology, I am learning the language used in healthcare so I can understand medical terms and communicate effectively in a medical setting. In Chemistry 1 with lab, I study the basics of chemistry, such as atoms and reactions, and complete experiments to see these ideas in action. In Calculus 1, I am learning about limits and derivatives, which help me understand how things change over time. In World History to 1600, I learn about early civilizations and important events that shaped the world. Along with my classes, S8 has taken educational trips to connect learning to real life, including visiting the Thermo Fisher Scientific facility to see how science is used in industry and touring the NC State Chemistry Department to explore college labs and learn more about studying chemistry in college.
