Here are my first edits which show how I progressed through the process of creating a short film.
At first, I wanted to experiment with ideas, to see what worked and what did not work. I was given feedback on the first version and made changes as a result of this.
The music was one area to improve and I was keen to take a different direction with the use of a soundtrack, one that might not be considered to fit the conventions of a horror movie but one that would attract the teen target audience and could be more marketable. The original soundtrack had a slow tempo and the feedback was that it made the film feel slow and boring.
I needed to improve the transitions so that they became smoother and I was told to change the font as it was too small. I was also given feedback to increase the length of the flickers.
The second version included more changes as a result of feedback and alterations to the plot that needed improving, for example, the red eyes of the protagonist did not make sense as it was ambiguous as to why he has them. I also changed the font and in this version there are irregularities in the font. This is deliberate as it hooks the audience in as they unconsciously focus on the imperfections and wish to continue watching.
