Effective Date: 18 June 2026
Ypsilon Inc (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application AI Note Taker (“App”), which allows users to take notes from audio, video, records, online audio/video, and live data
a. Personal Information
When you sign in with Google, we collect:
Your name
Email address
Profile photo (if available)
Google / Firebase account identifier
This is used for authentication, account management, and linking your transcriptions and purchases to your account.
b. Audio, Video, and Transcription Data
When you use Transcrybe, we process the following:
Uploaded audio and video files (e.g., MP3, WAV, AAC, MP4)
Recorded audio from your device microphone
Live transcription audio captured during real-time sessions
Public YouTube video URLs you submit (audio is extracted for transcription)
Audio/video links you provide (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox)
Transcription text, timestamps, segments, and AI-generated summaries
Language preferences for transcription
Original media and transcription results are processed on our secure backend servers (hosted on Google Cloud). Data is tied to your account and accessible only to you. You can delete individual transcriptions in the app or delete your entire account.
c. Purchase Information
If you buy credits or subscriptions through Google Play or the Apple App Store, we receive and verify:
Purchase token / receipt
Product ID and order ID
Platform (Android / iOS)
Price and currency
We use this to grant credits, show payment history, and prevent fraud. We do not collect or store your full payment card details — those are handled by Apple or Google.
d. Usage and Device Information
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect diagnostic data when the app crashes or encounters serious errors:
Device type and operating system version
App version
Crash logs and performance-related error reports
Firebase installation identifiers
We do not currently use Firebase Analytics in this app.
e. Information Stored on Your Device
To improve performance and offline access, the app may store locally:
Cached transcription metadata and text.
Authentication tokens and user ID (device storage)
App preferences (e.g. theme, language)
Local data is cleared when you log out or delete your account, subject to normal OS behavior.
We use your data to:
Provide transcription, summarization, and live transcription features
Authenticate you and manage your account and credits
Process and verify in-app purchases
Store and sync your transcription history
Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information, audio content, or transcriptions to third parties.
Microphone permission is required to record audio and provide live transcription functionality.
Storage/Media access (where applicable) is used to allow users to select and upload audio or video files from their device.
In-app billing permission is necessary to process and manage purchases on Android devices.
Permissions are requested when you use the related feature, not at app launch.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS (and WSS for live transcription).
Audio and transcripts are stored on secured backend infrastructure.
Access to backend systems is restricted and monitored.
Signed URLs are used where appropriate for time-limited access to media.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we use industry-standard practices to protect your data.
You can:
View and manage transcriptions in the app
Delete individual transcriptions
Delete your account (Profile → Delete Account), which permanently removes associated data from our servers
Request data deletion or ask questions at ypsiloninc@gmail.com
When you delete your account, associated transcriptions, profile data, and server-side records are permanently deleted, subject to legal retention requirements.
We may share data only:
With Google (Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Firebase Crashlytics, and cloud infrastructure)
With Apple and Google (in-app purchase processing and receipt validation)
With your explicit consent
To comply with law or respond to lawful requests
We do not share your audio, transcripts, or personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
The App uses:
Google Firebase (authentication, crash reporting)
Google Sign-In
Google Cloud (backend hosting and storage)
Apple App Store / Google Play (payments)
Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.
Transcrybe is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact ypsiloninc@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Your data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States and other regions where Google Cloud services run). By using the App, you consent to this processing.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. Material changes may be highlighted in the App. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
