All Young Leaders undergo an extensive 12-month on-boarding journey, which takes them across various business verticals and locations, challenging them with diverse role assignments and observing, guiding and evaluating each Young Leader in their initial phase of career.

After a comprehensive cross-functional training for 9 months, I was given the responsibility to handle the biggest accounts in Orissa as Area Sales Manager. With one year as ASM, I got exposure to both the major sales channels (Direct Dealer & Distribution). Post that, I got an opportunity as a Channel Manager (East Region), which is a role of Strategic Thinking in Business Planning. My responsibility is to evaluate distribution footprint and opportunities for expansion/consolidation across 12 states in East India.”

"My exciting journey at Whirlpool started in June 2016. I think one major highlight of the Young Leaders Program has been the early differentiated role offered to us whereby after only about 6 months into the organisation, we were allowed to handle distribution channel and trade partners independently resulting in a quantum jump in our learning and skill development. Another key takeaway was the opportunity to work in diverse markets ranging from rural upcountry areas of Eastern UP to my present assignment as East Delhi ASM with both territories having its own distinct challenges and dynamics. What has really helped to cope with the obstacles has been the open & inclusive environment that Whirlpool provides whereby seniors and even second line reporting managers are accessible and eager to mentor and guide us. All of this enables us to have passion about our work, be bold in our outlook and play to win, succeeding in everything that we undertake."

"It's said "The beginning is the half of action" and at Whirlpool, you will be put through a myriad of such situations, where you have to take your own sword and enter the battle. At Whirlpool, a leader is easily discerned by his/her ability to take initiatives and win battles on his own. That is also the reason why Young Leaders like us, are given the freedom and early differentiated roles. At just age 22, I am handling Top 5 critical suppliers for Quality at Whirlpool, Pondicherry. Although at the start one might get overwhelmed by the sheer experience of our colleagues (some have over 30 years of experience!) who are extremely kind and helpful people. One must always be business oriented and deliver, exceeding the expectation of the organisation (for which you duly get recognised). Space is the limit, here."
