What our students say
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the course, I think for me the smaller size of class has really helped to build my confidence. Jayne created a supportive and safe space in which I feel I have developed both professionally and personally. Professionally, I have really developed my counselling skills and understanding of counselling theory, but for me the self awareness and deeper understanding of myself I feel has been the most positive impact."
Sarah, Level 3 Certificate Completer.
"Over the last two years, I have grown alongside my colleagues in our training group. Guided by inspiring, dependable tutors, we have navigated the many demands of the course, encountering and supporting one another. It hasn’t been easy, and.. it is worth it!
I wholly recommend Yorkshire Counselling Training because of the high quality learning experiences offered and personally, as I have felt safe, supported and included throughout the course, which, as someone with diversity/different abilities, is greatly valued. I leave the course feeling empowered and secure. I take this forward to the clients with whom I will work."
J, currently completing Year 2.
"This course gives you the unique experience of really looking at yourself and how you relate to yourself and others, using the person centred theory. I feel there are two sides to this course, there’s the academic part , where you will develop your counselling skills, through peer practice and work placement , explore and understand theory, look at mental health issues, client diversity etc. There is also the personal development side of the course which I found amazing. Looking at myself from a different perspective and then being able to apply this self-awareness not only to counselling but to my whole life, has given me the courage to implement much needed changes."
