Phone survey results...

The results are in from our phone survey! Mrs Marson asked you which subject you are missing the most from school. The table shows the results. You may want to make a graph to display them!

What have you been up to?

You have been a busy lot Year 5! As well as your home learning, I asked you what else you had been doing. Just look at the variety of activities!

Mrs K: Getting Creative!

Hello Year 5. This week I have been trying new skills. The pencil drawing was my attempt to draw a man gazing at his reflection in a pool. It was a challenge from a BBC 4 live art challenge programme. The second photo is a watercolour abstract made using a credit card. What do you think? I think most of you could do much better. What new art techniques have you tried? Good luck and don't forget, send your photos to stjoseph@sjnewman.co.uk to see your work on the school Facebook page! Mrs Kelly x

Mrs R: Outdoor Fun!

Hi Year Five! I'm continuing to keep buy by entertaining my two boys! We are very lucky to live within walking distance of a country park where we go and explore every day. I hope that you are keeping yourselves busy as well and staying safe. Mrs Root x

Mrs M: Lockdown Birthday!

Hi Year 5! It was my birthday on St George's Day and despite being in lockdown, I had a great day. Here is a photo of me with the cake that Mr Marson made for me (all by himself!)

Mrs K: Puzzle fun!

Hi to all of you again! This has been my leisure project this week. It is a 1000 piece jigsaw of Steep Hill in Lincoln, a place I spent a few days on holiday with my mum during the last year's six week holiday. What has been your favourite activity this week? Can you use Google maps or an atlas to find Lincoln? The hill was very steep; I know, I climbed it! Mrs Kelly x

Mrs M: Gardening!

Hi Year 5! I took advantage of the recent sunny weather over the Easter weekend and went out and did some gardening. The cherry blossom tree in the photo is my favourite tree in the whole garden. Mrs M x

Mrs B: Dalmations

Mrs Brown has been kept very busy by her two Dalmations; Ivy and Nancy. Ivy was born deaf which is why Mrs Brown decided to rescue her along with Nancy. As you can see, they enjoy stealing Mrs Brown's sunlounger!

Mrs K: Nature Spotting!

Hi! So good to be in touch with you all. I am working hard on my school courses so when we meet again I have improved. Hope you are all doing the same. The photo is a creature I spotted on my daily exercise. What do you think it is? Have any of you managed to photograph any interesting wildlife? Take care of yourselves and keep helping your family. Mrs R: Garden Picnics

Hi Year 5! I'm really enjoying all of the sunny weather we are having. I spend most of my time in the garden with Oscar and Isaac. Our favourite thing to do is have a picnic on the lawn, imagining that we are at the park! Stay safe and I hope to see you all very soon. Mrs Root x
