Resources to help you stay positive...

Hope Clouds

It is important to keep a sense of 'hope' during these tricky times.

This activity requires you to draw a hope cloud, or lots if you prefer.

Then, fill the cloud with your hopes for the future. What are your hopes for school, for your family, for the future?

A nice idea would be to create a family hope cloud.

How many positives?

Thinking about positives can really enhance your mood. You may want to do this activity before bed or when you wake up.

Draw the shapes above to create your own poster. You then need to write some words around/in each shape. Keep adding to it to remember how many positives there are in your life!

Happiness Jar

Create a family happiness jar!

Here are some things you could write down and place in the jar:

  • Places you want to visit when lockdown is over

  • Things you are grateful for

  • Things you are proud of each day

  • Messages for each other

Fantastic Quotes!

Have you seen a quote that has made you feel happy or motivated? Or, have you designed your own?

Please do send them to stjoseph@sjnewman.co.uk or post to the school Facebook or Twitter page. You never know; you may see them uploaded on this page!

Outdoor Fun!

Why not try this fun scavenger hunt while on your walk?

What has cheered you up in the news?

New Banksy art appears!

Famous street art artist Banksy has created a new piece of art to pay tribute to NHS staff. The picture is on display in Southampton General Hospital. As you can see, the artwork shows a boy playsing with a toy nurse who is in a flying superhero pose. We certainly agree that our NHS workers are superheroes! The art will be sold to raise money for charity once lockdown is lifted.

Maybe you could be inspired and create your own Banksy style art to thank the NHS or other keyworkers?

Fantastic Fundraiser Captain Tom Moore!

I am sure you have all seen this in the news this week. 99 year old Tom Moore has raised millions (currently over £18 million!) for the NHS to celebrate his upcoming 100th birthday on April and to thank the NHS for looking after him when he was ill. He challenged himself to walk 100 laps of his garden and his initial fundraising target was £1000. It is fair to say he has well and truly surpassed his target! Well done Captain Tom Moore! What an inspiration to us all you are.
