Task 2: Essential Skills
Create a tuition video demonstrating the ‘Essential Skills’ for your instrument and how to play them, discussing some of the challenges and what you will focus on learning next.
Deadline: Fri 7th Feb 2025 (Week 19)
Evidence required: Link to video on your website / YouTube channel. Project 4, subpage "Essential Skills"
Unit 7 LO 1.2
Please note the Essentials Skills list below is not an exclusive list as is for guidance only!
You should work at an appropriate level to your skills and experience, including adding any warm-ups that you use in preparation for performance. This is especially important for vocalists, although warm-ups are useful for all instrumentalists.
If you are not in the habit of including warm-ups in your practice routine, do some research and add this to your website.
Drummers - ensure you demonstrate a series of rudiments and skills appropriate to your instrument and current stage of development
Make them more challenging by: Harmonising a 3rd / 5th up. Learning them in all keys. Improvising with them over backing tracks.
To remember the sound, think of the first 10 secs of David Bowie's Let's Dance!
Play from 1.49 for the Cm7 arpeggio.
