More than a seeker, the Wayfinder is the only one truly capable of possessing a Hearthbright. Without that spirit, the Hearthbright will remain forever out of reach. This hunt is not for everyone—it is reserved for those with an adventurous spirit and the willingness to be led by curiosity into the unknown.

S: No — you’re welcome to team up with as many people as you'd like — but only the registered participant is eligible to win the cash prize.

S: Aye. You may enter the hunt at any hour, even after the first day has passed, so long as the Hearthbright yet remains unfound. Should you arrive late to the path, we shall provide the clues already revealed, that your footing may be sure. Only take care to send word to us by email so we may know you have joined the hunt after it has begun.

C: What do I get if I win?
S: To the first hunter who walks the full path—who unravels every riddle and completes the journey—awaits the Hearthbright Dawnpiece. It is no mere trinket, but a mark of the miles your spirit has traveled, and the proof that you are a true Wayfinder.
The registered Wayfinder who claims the Hearthbright Dawnpiece will not only earn the title of this hunt’s champion and keep the coin as their own, but will also take the growing bounty, starting at $700 and increasing with each additional seeker who follows.
Or, if they choose, Hux Soul offers a rare alternative: a one-of-a-kind 1969 electro-mechanical pinball machine, discovered in the cellar of an old building—an artifact of a different kind of history.

C: What do we get if we don’t win? I don’t want to walk away empty-handed.

If money is the only reason you enter this hunt, then the journey ends before it ever truly begins. This experience is meant to lead you to remarkable places and uncover the rich, often overlooked history of New Jersey. Anyone who solves the clues and visits the sites will discover that the adventure itself is the reward—the bounty is simply the icing on the cake.

C: I don't live in NJ, can I still do this?
S: Yes! Anyone in the USA can join the quest. Most of the clues can be solved remotely, but to claim the prize, you’ll need to locate the Hearthbright. While each puzzle can be worked through from the comfort of your armchair, certain details can only be discovered by visiting the site in person.

C: I’m excited to join the hunt, but I’m hesitant about driving all over New Jersey. I heard you had contestants driving to four different counties. Will we be doing that again?
S: This hunt will be different.
In Hunt I, Seekers did travel across four New Jersey counties—but that path was shaped by the nature of that story. Ink & Ember does not follow the same design.
In Hunt II, you will have options.
Option one: solve the clues as intended and go directly to the Hearthbright. One journey. One destination. One trip.
However, mystery does not always unfold in a straight line. If the puzzle proves more complex than expected, there may be opportunities that lead you to specific places—unique locations you likely wouldn’t seek out on your own—where you can gather the information needed to unlock the larger solution.
Nothing is unnecessary. Nothing is random. But how far you travel will depend on how deeply you choose to pursue what is hidden in front of you.

S: I am hoping to release Hunt II in late July or early August.
