C: What is a Wayfinder and a Hearthbound?
S: Wayfinder, by our measure, is one who searches for truth, for meaning, for the next step forward when all paths seem dark. A Wayfinder is a servant to mystery, a disciple of wonder, and above all, someone who dares to leave the safety of the shore in search of something greater. A Hearthbound is a term we use for those who never leave the safety of their chair, content to let adventure and opportunity pass them by?

C: How much does it cost to play?
S: The first three clues will be released free beginning May 1 inside the Cartographer’s Vault here on the site.
Clues IV and V are reserved for those who officially register. An early registration of just $20 grants full passage into the quest — only $4 per clue for a chance at real adventure.
Where else can you buy mystery at that price?

C: Do I need to register my friends and family to play with me?
S: No — you’re welcome to team up with as many people as you'd like — but only the registered participant is eligible to win the cash prize.

C: Can I register and play after the hunt begins on May 1, 2026?
S: Aye. You may enter the hunt at any hour, even after the first day has passed, so long as the Hearthbright yet remains unfound. Should you arrive late to the path, we shall provide the clues already revealed, that your footing may be sure. Only take care to send word to us by both email and text, so we may know you have joined the hunt after it has begun.

C: How will I receive the clues once I register?
S: Each week, for five weeks hence, a new clue shall be delivered to you by email—arriving in its own time, as all good revelations do. Don't forget to include your email and check the spelling.

C: What do I get if I win?
S: To the first hunter who walks the full path—who unravels every riddle, finds each hidden place, and proves their journey—awaits the Hearthbright Dawnpiece Coin. It is no mere trinket, but a mark of the miles your spirit has traveled… the proof that you are a true Wayfinder.
The registered Wayfinder who claims the Hearthbright Dawnpiece shall not only bear the title of this hunt’s champion, and keep the coin as their own, but shall also take the bounty of $500.00, a number that will grow with each subsequent hunt.

C: What do we get if we don’t win? I don’t want to walk away empty-handed.
S: You may have heard me say this before: the treasure isn’t what you find, but who you become while searching for it. If money is the only reason you enter this hunt, then the journey ends before it ever truly begins. This experience is meant to lead you to remarkable places and uncover the rich, often overlooked history of New Jersey. Anyone who solves the clues and visits the sites will discover that the adventure itself is the reward—the bounty is simply the icing on the cake.

C: I don't live in NJ, can I still do this?
S: Yes! Anyone in the USA can join the quest. Most of the clues can be solved remotely, but to claim the prize, you’ll need to locate the Hearthbright. While each puzzle can be worked through from the comfort of your armchair, certain details can only be discovered by visiting the site in person—and those details are essential for solving the fifth and final clue.

C: I’m excited to join the hunt, but I’m hesitant about driving all over New Jersey. Could you narrow it down to a specific area of the state?
S: The hunt was meant to shroud its grounds in mystery… yet Hux knows your world stretches beyond these hidden paths.
Though New Jersey is small, journeys across it can weigh heavy. Seek the tab called Searching Grounds. Where the X or Circle touches a county, there lies your realm of pursuit. Beyond those borders, you shall not wander. Your quest is contained… but no less profound.
