The Code of the Wayfinder

To walk the path is to walk with purpose. Below are the sacred tenets all true Wayfinders must uphold. Follow them not out of fear of disqualification, but because it is the right and noble way.

I. Tread Only Where You're Welcome
A true Wayfinder respects the boundaries of others. You shall not venture onto private property. Every location in this quest lies in the open—public lands, under open skies. No fence shall be crossed. No lock shall be tested.

II. Leave No Scar Upon the Land
Graffiti, litter, destruction—these are the marks of the reckless, not the wise. If you defile a place in pursuit of treasure, you are no Wayfinder. Any vandalism or unlawful conduct will cast you out from this journey. The Earth watches, always.

III. Honor the Hours of the Land
Some places sleep when the sun goes down. You must respect all curfews, closing times, and park hours. What is closed at night is closed to you. Walk only when the world allows it—and always follow the laws of the land.

IV. Take Nothing But the Memory
The treasures you seek are not to be plucked from their place. Nothing is to be removed, taken, or disturbed. The Wayfinder follows the sacred code: Take only pictures. Leave only footprints.

V. Leave It Better Than You Found It
If you see a bottle, a wrapper, a forgotten scrap—take it with you. Clean as you go. To be a Wayfinder is to be a steward of the earth. If each of us lifts one small burden, the land breathes easier.

VI. The Road Has Its Rules
Whether on foot or behind the wheel, obey all traffic laws. The journey is no excuse for recklessness. Every sign and signal is part of the greater map. Heed them.

VII. Shun Foolish Dangers
No treasure worth seeking lies at the edge of a cliff or beneath deep waters. The path I’ve laid is safe, and shall remain so. Do not create risk where none is needed. Your safety is worth more than any mystery.

VIII. Lend a Hand Where It’s Needed
To be a Wayfinder is to serve. If you see a traveler in distress—a flat tire, a drained battery, or someone simply lost—help them. Compassion is the compass we follow. Your journey is not more important than theirs.

IX. Harm No Beast Nor Bloom
This world is alive with creatures and color. You shall not harm, frighten, or trample what grows and breathes in your path. Walk gently. Watch your step. Let the land know you by kindness.

X. Remember—X Always Marks the Spot
In every legend, there is a center. A place. A moment. A truth. Never forget this: X marks the spot—but it is not always gold that lies beneath. Sometimes, what you find is a part of yourself you’ve long forgotten.

Walk well, Wayfinder. The path awaits.
