Project Brief
Temple of Hon'ur is a three-week team project for the second semester of the bachelor in The Royal Academy, this course aims to give the student an introduction to working with stories as content and framework for own design concepts. Acrodding to the theme "Junk World", we built a lonely ruins altar in the cave and the mechanical devices left behind by the end of worship by Unity. We set the timeline at the post-apocalyptic era, human's civilization and technology have degraded to the tribal age. We planned to reach the sense of deduction and drama brought by the setting of "if there are a lot of remains of modern equipment in nature, how will human civilization develop and what stories will be produced".
Genre: Game environment prototype
My role: 3D artist
Engine: Unity
Platforms: Windows, Mac
Team size: 6
Duration: 3 weeks during April 2021
Positions on project: 3D artist
Collaborated with concept artist to design the assets needed to build the environment. For the structure of the temple, we refer to many Greek-style architectural relics and Doric Order, combined with a hollow roof structure.
Created the 3D assets, such as the ruins, stone steps and pillars for the prototype. Made the modelin both low poly and high poly version in Blender, imported the model into Substance Painter, and baked the high poly mesh as a normal map to maintain details.
