West (西) is Lay's 4th digital EP, released on 23rd September 2022. The EP contains a total of 5 tracks, including both the English and Mandarin versions of the EP's title track "Veil".

"面纱 / Veil" is inspired by the old Chinese folk song "西洲曲 / The Ballad of Xizhou" which is about a woman's lovesickness for her lover, and wishing to reunite with her lover in Xizhou, a place where lovers meet and part. In Lay's concept, this is a metaphor for his music journey starting from the East, and his dreams of taking it to the West (and to the rest of the world).
