Almuj insignia
Desert city built on top of a fallen empire, Almuj is relatively safe from the Corruption presence in the province, only second to Nesaak. It is known for being the gateway to the desert and for its majestic bank towering above every building in the city that can be used only by trusted citizens. Being relatively safe compared to other settlements due to being far away from corruption.
Citizens of Almuj
The Society of Almuj seems to value reputation and honor, they believe doing good deeds allow you to have a place higher in society. With the value of reputation, the citizens of Almuj are being exploited into free labor in exchange for reputation. Some people may not be fortunate and get a bad reputation with no way of coming back, forcing them to take life in the slums or become bandits in the desert.
Despite its size and wealth, Almuj has a large portion of the poverty-ridden portion located in the south of the city. Homeless citizens are camping there as they try to survive every day with their families. The mysterious man named “Nick” has taken it upon himself to take care of and guide these poor citizens to live another day.
The people of Almuj value plants as luxury
The people of Almuj seem to value plants, as various houses have gardens or potted plants in them, some even going as far as making a small farm on their roof. It’s most likely that the people see plants as luxury and indicate their wealth and status in society.
Animals were also seen with high regard by the people of Almuj who saw them as necessary companionship to the point even the homeless citizens would have tamed rats they found within their camp. This high regard towards the animals also shaped the military forces of Almuj.
Almuj militia is well known for its cavalry, this allows the military to mobilize its forces across the province. The various mounts for different purposes ranging from fighting to supply carrying, allowed the Almuj militia to become a powerful ally to other settlements in both warfare and logistics. The army is currently led by Admiral Amerigo.
Unlike other settlements, Almuj guards seem to prefer swords rather than spears. This may be due to a cultural preference rather than an actual tactical benefit of using shorter melee weapons against mindless hordes. Besides the station to guard the city, they also can be seen riding various animals, and transporting supplies to support the army.
The cavalry of Almuj is well known for the exceptional skills of fighting on their animals like horses or camels. They wear armor to protect them specifically while on their mounts and use weapons like pikes or spears rather than swords to quickly kill any target they set their eyes on. They can be seen all around the province, as they offer assistance to any settlements in need.
Scarab and Chaser Armors
Due to being located in the desert and near the savannah, Almuj has access to a variety of creatures to use in the military.
The horses that Ajumi uses are from Ternaves, a nearby town known for horse breeding. Horses are commonly used for cavalry in the military for their mobility. A common tactic used against the corrupted horde is using a group of riders to herd lesser corrupted into one swarm and another group to flank and kill the commander of the horde, resulting in the horde breaking its formation and easily picking off.
Camels are also utilized in the army, almost as much as horses. They have more versatile use, as they can carry supplies and travel longer distances than horses, allowing for the cavalry to travel to other settlements for message or supply delivery. Camels are also being used to carry out missions beyond the desert to deal with bandits or for other purposes unsuitable for horses.
Elephants are used for heavy supply carrying, infantry transport, and rarely for actual warfare. Due to their size and easily frightened nature, elephants are rarely used in combat against Corruption. Some attempts of weaponizing the elephants have been made, though none have been successful so far.

Ah, the desert city above the fallen empire. Quite a background for a settlement that does not have much history and ties with the Corruption War like other settlements. However, I do enjoy collecting artifacts and records of the ancient empire beneath the desert. I highly suspect the fallen empire to have similar governance as Fruma but that's just my theory at the moment.
