Silver Eagle

Silver Eagle is a new climbing area that began development in January of 2021 by Mike Rogers, Bobby Hutton and many other generous souls like Nate Schmidt, Aidan McGuire, Randy Alaga, Kinsey Tarplee, and Will Botta to name a few.

This area is OPEN with 50+ routes!
Some things to consider:

**NEW THINGS! I made a forum, which my intent at this point is to use more as a message board. It will allow people to discuss all things pertaining to a crag/area, from safety issue like loose bolts, to lost and found items, to finding partners and any crag events.... I called it The Spray.
You do not need to sign up to view anything, only if you want to post something.

We would still very much appreciate this place not being put on Mountain Project. We feel word of mouth is the best way to roll out this great moderate crag to the people to allow a soft landing. Thank you for your understanding! ** 

- The area was burned through by the Caldor fire. Just as with any area that has had fire run through it. BE CAREFUL. The trail from parking to crag has mostly been cleaned up, but still has some obstacles that need clearing. Wind can bring down branches, so if windy keep that in mind. This is still true 3 years later.

- Grades are approximate. All grades here are just suggestions based upon FA's feeling and refined by more climbers input. They will change, and your feedback helps us provide more accurate information. (use the feedback form on this site! button is up top)
Typically, the older the climb, the more accurate the rating.

- Anchors. Please go to the anchor section for a description on the anchors you will find here.

- Loose rock is real. There has been cleaning and trundling….most hazards have been mitigated. This does not mean you won’t break something or knock something loose. Be aware and belayers should wear helmets. Be careful on ledges above climbs to not knock things down, especially if doing things high up on Oso Wall.

- There may be fixed lines you come across. Do not assume they are safe. You can climb routes that have fixed lines but may take some finagling at the anchor as the fixed line may be tied into the fixed gear up top. Bring QD’s to clip bolts under fixed gear at the anchor if needed.

- The longest climbs here require 15 draws not including potential anchor gear.

- 70m rope is advised to be able to climb everything here. If it’s a 35m climb, tie knots in the end of your rope when lowering or TRing. There are a few rope stretchers. See the picture at the bottom of this page as a reference.

- Feel free to use a brush and clean things. There are sometimes brushes stashed by the Pondo rock. If you find them don’t hesitate to help the crag out with your cleaning skills. Your help is appreciated.

- Pack it in pack it out. Please keep this area free of garbage and other trash.
