WHAT IS PROFESSIONAL SELLING?
In professional selling, a student prepares a presentation, either digital (like a powerpoint) or physical (like a tri-fold board) to present to a judge on a specific topic. For example, in the Financial Consulting Professional Selling Event, students roleplay as a financial consultant meeting with a client.
Everyone who competes in a professional selling event must also take their respective cluster exam test, a 100 multiple-choice question exam testing general business knowledge and a specific area of business pursuant to your event.
Preparation generally involves not just creating and fine tuning your presentation itself, but also practicing it out loud and in front of other people. Make sure you do not neglect your exam; although the presentation is 66% of your overall grade and the test is 33%, participants will generally do much worse on the exam than their roleplay, meaning it is easier to outscore them there.
