Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Director of Campus Division

The maintenance employee works in cooperation with the entire church staff and as a member of the team is responsible for safety, cleanliness, and efficient operation of the buildings and grounds. As a minimally supervised employee with numerous duties, varying priorities, and conflicting demands, must be self-directed, able to make sound judgements and decisions for the overall best interest of the church.
Monitor and maintain facilities and property with safety as the highest priority. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, water, snow removal and other mechanical systems.
Keep the buildings and property clean, attractive, and well-maintained and energy efficient.
Purchase and maintain a cost-effective inventory of cleaning, paper, lighting, and repair supplies, which includes monitoring prices to ensure economic purchases. • Ensure a proper environment, including temperature, ventilation, and accessibility, which require preventative maintenance and reasonable anticipation of foreseeable problems.
Assess, schedule, and implement solutions for repair issues based on maintenance staff abilities, budget concerns, timing and priorities.
Assist vendors and contractors hired to provide maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Communicate with staff regarding facility scheduling and use.
Set-up rooms in the manner and timeframe requested.
Maintain records and logs required for maintenance, insurance, health, safety, and code compliance.
Available and on-call 24/7 for emergencies.
Attend Staff Meetings and other meetings as needed.
Participate and/or attend quarterly business meetings.
Assist staff and volunteers as needed and requested with ladder, hanging decorations, and other manual tasks.
Investigate pricing and obtain bids for significant purchases of equipment, repairs, and maintenance contracts.
High School Diploma/GED
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and mechanical systems.
Use basic computer skills including word processing, email, and calendaring.
Use maintenance and mechanical tools.
Relate well, communicate professionally and courteously with staff, volunteers, church members, children, contractors and vendors. Self-motivated to work independently with little supervision. Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
One year experience in building and ground maintenance preferred.
Drivers License with no restrictions is required
Must be open to dynamic changes in schedule. Shifts will vary based on activity and event needs.
Generally, facility hours of operation are 8:00AM-9:00PM (Sunday through Saturday) but can be as much as two hours earlier or later.
Lift a minimum of 50 lbs., spend 80-90% of work time on your feet while doing a wide variety of moderate, physical activity both indoors and outdoors.
