The Roin - The Faceless Ones

• The faceless ones were born from a life tree deep within forenya, they are born with white, ashy skin, as if made of bark, however the further they stray their skin turns to a charcoal black. They have glowing blue or gold eyes.
• The homeland is lost, however Khalikar and Cervian scouts report seeing white Faceless Ones roaming the forest, still protecting their forgotten homeland
• Since faceless ones cannot be born in a traditional sense, they can rebirth themselves. Seeds can be created/grown in the earth to a shell being, and faceless ones can transfer their spirit to the seed, causing the previous body to crumble into ash. The new being is a fresh start, with no memory of its past life, although it is said that some have been able to access past memories through magical means.
  • Holy trees found throughout the world, seeds are formed from the roots and are perfect spheres of fossilized wood
  • Very rarely, every few decades, a seed will birth a newborn with no souls transferred. Many believe this is nature returning a lost soul who could not be reborn by their own means to the living.
• Masks are created at birth, gifted to the newborn. Every growth ceremony a new mask is created. New masks can be created and approved by shamans. If a mask is not approved by a shaman it is considered a dark mark and cursed if worn.
• Roin where masks at all times except when alone, at home or among intimate company. Few people have seen unmasked Roin. The masks come in all sorts of styles and shapes.
• Roin are mostly nomadic, and roam the world, searching for a purpose. However uncommon it is to come across a Roin, it is especially rare to come across several together. While not unheard of, Roin tend to stick to themselves, or with other races.
