Click here for "What is magic" summary for those needing a quickguide
Magic is energy that was able to be gathered from the environment and wielded. However, this is only how Dreamfluffs go on about using magic since they are a unique case. Unlike other species, Dreamfluffs need to gather the energy around them and wield it because they lack a core.
Any creature in this world is born with a core. They are able to channel the energy stored within it and magic that way, manifesting it in many ways. Such ways can be fireballs, having crystals on the body, growing flowers and many more. Dreamfluffs however do not posses this core. While their bodies are filled with energy , its cannot be channeled outside in a way other creatures do. For them, that is boosting.
When it was discovered that while not possessing a core, energy could still be gathered because their bodies attracted it, Dreamfluffs quickly latched onto this new information and discovered their own form of magic.

In order to wield magic a fluff must first unlock the ability to wield. The most common method is for a fluff to concentrate in order to feel the energy surrounding them . Once they do that, they will find, as fluffs call it, their "click". When that happens they are able to wield energy and manifest it in a unique visual form. Clicks do not have a definitive presentation and are usually unique to the individual. Some can be as simple as feeling warmth in your hands (Fire magic) or shooting sparkles from your nose (Lighting magic).
It's not uncommon for people to find their clicks during life threatening situations or even by relaxing. People with the same magic (Ex. water) could have completely different clicks. One could have been drowning and clicked right there while someone else could have been surfing and clicked with the ocean waves.
If a fluff does not feel a click it means that they are not able to do magic. There is also no way to determine who will be able to do magic and who will not. A fluff that can use magic needs to consume pearls in order to wield, otherwise, if they only consume normal food, they won't be able to. As long as you have at least a bit of true energy in you and not fake from eating normal food, you can magic! (if you have unlocked magic that is)
Wielding refers to how someone uses their magic. The most common method of wielding is by using ones' body (such as hands) but there are cases where objects, such a wands, are used to help a fluff as they need assistance to be able to wield. In total wielding has been put into two categories and no matter how your fluff choses to wield their magic (if they have that option) it will fall under Body or Object wielding.
The most common wielding type found among fluffs. The body is used to wield magic such as for example shooting fireballs from your hand or controlling the earth with your feet.
This type of wielding is pretty common for fluffs who wield magic such as water, fire, nature etc, commonly referred to as "natural" elements since they are found in the environment.
Body wielding is diverse and can be used in many ways.
Wands, staffs, crystals and more. These all go under object type and is commonly used among fluffs that need assistance in order to wield (such as not being able to focus their energy properly for example).
Object wielding can pretty much be anything and is a popular option even for those that can wield magic without its need, usually to fluffs who do it for aesthetic or fashion purposes.
Just like body wielding, so is object wielding diverse, albeit limited in its use. But hey broken objects can be fixed so!
Bellow you can find examples of what kind of magic fluffs can wield. Since magic as a concept is broad, how your fluff will manifest their energy will visually be unique to them and majority of time match them. They cannot, however, control what they get. They can control how their magic LOOKS when they find out what it is but they cannot CHANGE it. Usually they end up getting something that they like and its theorized that desire, personality, and individuality is what can affect what magic you get, but its just a theory. Pray that you get something that fits you...
Fluffs with the same type of magic could use it for different reasons. For example someone with water magic could create spikes to hurt, while someone else could use water droplets infused with the fluff's energy to heal others. What is shown bellow are just examples of common magic found, but you are more than welcome to ask if something you plan on using could work or not:
Earth, Nature, Water, Light, Air, Fire, Electricity, Shadow, Darkness, Poison, Crystal, Storms, Sand, Ice, Metal, Wither, Balance, Dream, Distortion, Nightmares, Hypnosis, Galaxy, Chaos, Voice/Sound , Clouds etc
While fluffs can gather energy around them at any time and use it, there are limitation on how long they can do it for. These are called "cooldowns" , and your character must have them. Each Dreamfluffs can only wield one type of magic so no double elements!
Skills can be both active and passives as long as passive do not fall too closely under boosting (ex. good hearing at all times. Of course, magic can be substitute for some things like for example having a permanent vine arm if you are missing an arm from birth). Passives are usually unlocked when the fluff unlocks their magic for the first time, the passive forming right then and there, becoming permanent (ex. has nature magic and now always has flowers growing out of their body).
As for magic levels, it refers to how well (and strong) an OC is at holding and wielding energy (magic). Make sure it makes sense why your OC's level is low or high (newborns would be beginners to average only.) Levels are as follow: (You can use any level for secondary OCs/NPCs . If you aren't sure what level your skills/ideas could go to feel free to ask!)
Fluffs who have a hard time gathering energy and keeping its visually stable or cannot control it properly (ex. Can shoot fireballs but sometimes it doesn't work or the fireballs don't listen and go out of control).
Fluffs of this level are very strong and is what level mages that have been studying achieve. Fluffs that fight (such as knights) can have this after practicing magic together with their boosting after decades.
This is the standard level which is what fluff that have done a bit of training achieve. This level is what most every day fluffs that don't fight or use magic as much have. Their cooldowns vary from longer to shorter, but never in seconds.
Fluffs of this level are considered powerful as they are much stronger than advanced. They have mastered their skills and use them perfectly. Experts are those that trained basically their entire lives. Magic is commitment, so experts and masters are older and tend to become teachers at the academy (naturals are usually younger)
