The currency of Dreamfluffs is called shards, small diamond shaped coins made from leftover pearls that do not give energy. These shards can be used to buy items from the various shops as well as new character slots.
Members can earn currency by drawing their own or someone else’s character, including official NPCs, and submit the artwork in the #art=gallery channel on discord to have them counted.
To make sure the counting process is easier for the mod and to assure no submission is misjudged, we ask members to self count their artworks. This way different art styles won’t be assumed and end up being given wrong amounts.
Currency system can change depending on if people find it easy or hard. Don't be afraid to express your opinion to help us improve it!
Collabs are split in half between members
Companions are counted based on their size and are counted as extras. Only official companions from peppa's shelter count for shards, including approved (aka have a drawn visual) summons/normal pets.
The bellow is a bonus that is added on top once the base aka character(s)/BG is counted.
Each frame is counted separately as long as it's not a double frame and is unique. (more details bellow)
When you submit an animation with unique frames please put them somewhere (like stash or TH) so they can be counted.
Using bases for art is allowed but have certain rules. Like stated in F.A.Q, while bases are allowed to be used, they should not be relied on too much. Rules for using bases are as follow:
Bases are only allowed if you made them yourself. When the base is used for the first time (aka it has not been used prior for anything else) full amount of currency will be earned. However, if used again, any art that has that base will be halved from then on.
If you drew something and it was not intended to be a base but you turn it into a base later, the same rules apply. The first drawing will earn full currency but everything from then on will be halved.
Bases may be used for outfit template quests during events but cannot be used for any other event quest. The art will be halved if the base is not being used for the first time. Bonuses of any kind are added normally and are not affected.
Tracing over your own art for a non-animation will count as using a base. If it's intended to be an animation, then check out the animation examples bellow to see where it would fit.
If you are self counting, please state it's a base and half your shards. If you are not self counting, state it's a base so the mod knows for when they count your work.
Bellow are examples and explanations for animations. If you need more examples or are not sure where your animation would go, feel free to ask (or leave it up to the mods to decide when counting your work). Unique frame refers to a frame that was redrawn or at least has some difference from the previous one.
Animation that was applied to the image and is (often) not each frame being redrawn. It's instead mainly a static image with some parts moving (like hair). Usually around 2-5 frames for the part being animated.
Blinking/winking eyes go here.
This type of animation does not require you to submit each frame separately but it depends on the animation (such as in the omori example where the animation is the lineart being different, but the character isn't moving, but it would count as three unique frames)
Animation that have the character moving in the same scene (switching from one chara POV to another counts as complicated as long as its only 2 scenes max). Unlike simple, there's a bunch of movement here that can range from the entire body to at least most of it moving, instead of some parts moving while the base is static.
Movement could be arm waving while a smile forms, tail wagging while hands move around excited etc.
This type of animation requires you to submit each unique frame separately.
Animation where there is more than 2 scenes, regardless if some parts are simpler. This is also for animations that have a lot of movement like jumping at someone and things go flying etc. Basically, it doesn't happen in the same camera (scene)
This type of animation requires you to submit each unique frame separately as well.
This is the self counting form that should be used when submitting art. If you do not, mods will count with their own criteria.
Self count for one character example:
Base: Halfbody (20)
Type: Clean sketch (+10)
Colours: Clean/Base (+10)
Shading: Simple shading (+10)
Bg: N/A
Total: 50
Self count for multiple characters on same submission example:
Base: x3 Halfbody (60)
Type: x1 Clean sketch (+10), x1 Lined (+15), x1 Rough sketch (+5)
Colours: x3 Clean/Base (+30)
Shading: x1 Simple shading (+10), 2 Detailed shading (+60)
Bg: N/A
Total: 190
When you have drawn something and wish to earn shards for it, submit it to the #art-gallery channel on discord. If it's an event artwork, it should go in #event-gallery. When the artwork is counted, you will see a checkmark emoji.
Any art posted in #art-gallery is automatically assumed to be finished, even if it's a sketch, and will be counted. Please post your art in #wip-gallery if it's a wip or a sketch you plan finishing later. Mention if an artwork is for a quest so mods don't miss the bonus.
If you haven drawn a piece with an unofficial NPC/companion but later on made them official, you can resubmit that artwork to earn shards for those NPCs. Simply resubmit the artwork to #art-gallery and state that you are resubmitting to have the NPC(s) in the art counted. The mod will then give you the shards for those characters
Important: The mod will count the characters that became official, they will not count shards for the entire piece again. Make sure to state you are resubmitting so the mod doesn't accidentally count the whole piece!

For normal writing every 50 words is 5 shards. For RP logs, every 100 words is 10 shards. The total word count for RP logs is split between participants. If there's any bonus that needs to be added (such as quest bonus) for your writing/RP make sure to state it in your post!
Important: When submitting a RP log, make sure not to include the usernames as part of the word count. As for normal writing, if you include an unofficial NPC, you don't have to remove their word count.
If it's a RP that was held in DMs, copy & paste the whole RP log somewhere (like a google doc). Place the link in #art-gallery and mention the participant(s) as well as the word count. Leave the rest to the mods
If its a RP from the server, simply one person from the RP has to copy the message link of the first post of the RP and the last text of the RP and place it into #art-gallery. Mention participants and leave the rest to the mods .
If its normal writing and not a RP, place the link in #art-gallery and state total amount of words+ if it's for a quest/any bonus amount. Leave the rest to mods.

Artworks/writings/RP logs will be counted at least once a week on Saturdays. Any art that has no self counting form will be counted on that day as well but will be with the mod's criteria, meaning that you might not receive the amount you believe you deserve. If you wish to let the mod count your post for whatever reason (unsure what counts, too lazy etc) then state it in your post.
One a work is counted the post will have a checkmark emoji. You will get tagged in #bank when receiving your shards.
