A bleeding Dream Shard
Dreamfluffs are born via what is known as "Dream Shards". These shards are small diamond shaped pieces that are scattered all over the 6 regions and are pink in colour, floating in the air. After a random period of time passes these shards vanish . However, there's a chance a Dreamfluff will be born from one of them.
A birth of a Dreamfluff is known via the fact the shard will glow brighter than usual and it will start bleeding. This bleeding is energy in its purest form and golden in colour (at first) and is what will create the body of the new Dreamfluff.
The liquid that bleeds from the shard will slowly form a body and in the process harden on the outside, creating a shell. The shell will trap inside of it the energy and give life to the body. It takes approximately 2-3 days for the body to be done forming.
A fluff's body is physically that of an adult between the ages of 20-50 when formed. HOWEVER, in rare instances, there are chances a Dreamfluff is born much, much smaller, resulting in what is known as a "baby". These fluffs are either adopted by willing adults and are now deemed parents, or are raised in caretaker houses/their community until they are adults and ready to do their own thing.
The pose of a forming body can vary. Some could be sitting, others lying etc. Up to you.
In cases a fluff is born a baby, their bodies will grow bigger until it stops aging at 20, which is when theyll be considered adults. Dreamfluffs are always naked when born which is not a big issue within their society but blankets and clothes are carried around in case the newborn would like that better.

Dreamfluffs do not possess things such as organs, their insides is just energy. Their mouths that have a tongue are the same colour as the insides, including gums, but the tongue can sometimes be a slightly darker shade of their energy colour
A fluff's energy can be any colour ranging from white to black to green and pastels, since it's starting colour when its bleeding doesn't stay the same majority of time after the body is formed. Teeth tend to be human looking but its not uncommon for fangs or shark teeth to be present, its up to you and your character design.
A Dream fluff and a Nightmare fluff
Dreamfluffs can be born with any of the two natures: Dream or Nightmare. Dream ones are those born from Dream shards that emitted a strong pleasant feeling while nightmare ones are born from shards that emitted a very unpleasant feeling.
There is no major difference between the two aside from the fact that nightmare ones spot an "X" around their fluffs.
A smooth fluff and a bumpy fluff
Fluffs refer to the parts of the body that are very soft to the touch. They can be found around the ear area as well as the tip of a Dreamfluff's tail (not uncommon for it to not be present on the tail however).
Visually fluffs can look more smooth or bumpy regardless of its shape. Size wise they are not too small or too big.
Fluffs can be of any shape, ranging form stars to hearts etc.
Adorns refer to the bits that stick out of a Dreamfluff's fluffs and around the fluff area. Even if a Dreamfluff is born without the fluffy parts, adorns will always be present.
They are commonly very fancy in appearance, appearing in many shapes ranging from wings to animal ears and anything else. As long as the shape makes sense and it isn't small, its allowed to use.
Adorns form on the last day of their birth and are created from the excess energy left when the body is done forming. They are the pride and joy of a Dreamfluff and tends to be an attraction point to most. Adorns either stick out directly from the fluffs or from the skin, and can look either flat or 3D.
Adorns CANNOT be removed . Managing to break one off will result in pain. Losing one is considered the worst thing that can happen to a Dreamfluff.
Aside from that, adorns can move based on the Dreamfluff's reaction. So if for example your are happy, the ears could perk up, if sad, they droop.

Majority of time a Dreamfluff is born with one long tail (same material as their adorns) but in uncommon cases they can be born with two. This can be a hassle to some since tails are long and reach the ground. However, shorter tails which are half the size also be found.
The tail has a "feathery" look, and the feathers can look rounder or sharper (up to you) just make sure they have more than 3-4 feathers. The tail is solid in form but you can find some tails that are detailed , called adorn tails , since most times they match the designs of the Dreamfluff's adorns.
Tails can move freely and while it might not look like it because both adorns and tails are made out of hard materials most of the time, a fluff's tail is actually very light and can bend. They don't have much depth and look almost flat, but regardless of angle, you will see the feathery look
Unlike ear adorns, a tail having no fluff at the tip is not uncommon. There's many ways a tail can look.
Material talks about the material a Dreamfluffs's adorns and tail are made off, aka the feel and texture. Adorns and tails are commonly made of gold or silver as that's the form excess energy commonly takes but finding other types of materials such as glass or crystal is not uncommon. While you can choose any materials for your character, some materials are not allowed. Here's the can and can't:
Can: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Glass, Crystals, Cloth, Wood, Coal , Wax , Candle
Can't: Water, Fire, Earth, Air , Plants
You can ask if a material you plan on using would be okay. Remember, material is about the feel and texture, they won't be dripping if your material is a candle for example. Keep in mind that specific materials might make it harder for the OC to do things (ex. Crystal adorns would shine a lot under the sun)
ADORNS AND TAILS ARE SAME MATERIAL. You can colour them differently but it needs to be same material (ex. Adorns are ruby, tail is emerald)
Dreamfluffs are always born with a small hole in the middle of their chest which they refer to as "Chest hole". This chest hole shows the amount of energy a fluff has left in its body and it's very important as it helps fluffs keep track of their energy levels .
Energy does not leak out from this hole because its as if there is an invisible glass preventing the energy from leaking out. Poking someone's chest hole will just feel like you are poking any other part of the body. And no, your finger won't go in.
The shape of this hole can be anything but usually it matches the shape of a Dreamfluff's fluff. Often they keep their chest holes uncovered so they can see easier. When it's in lower levels you still see the skin colour.

All DreamFluffs are born with a body part or sense missing. They might be born with lack of eyes, lack of vision, bad vision, be blind in one eye, be mute, be deaf, miss a limb and so on. Prosthetics, both man-made and magical, are a common occurance. It's also common to see unconventional missing parts such as missing a knee or neck but everything else (head/leg) functions normally!
Dreamfluffs like to cover missing parts but not because of embarrassment, but because they love decorating those parts as a way to inform people of what part they are missing. Sometimes it can be hard to guess what part is missing as not everyone does it, but in those cases, you can simply ask the fluff.
Common methods of decoration include but are not limited to: headbands, masks, eyepatches, bandages, prosthetics , leg bracelets , etc.
Dreamfluffs can be born with private body parts just like how us humans do. Genitals look just like human genitals with the difference being that the inside of the feminine genital is the same colour as the energy. As for the masculine one, the tip will be the same colour as their energy.
Fluffs do not have a use of genitals for things such as reproducing, but can still use them for pleasure.
Usually fluffs that do not care about gender are usually born without these parts already. But in cases where they are born with genitals they are not comfortable with, they can undergo surgery for permanent change and switch them to their desired one or remove them completely.
There are unique cases where 2 fluffs are born from the same shard, which results in twins. In such cases the twins' chest hole looks cut in half which means that each twin holds half the shape. These twins usually have a lower energy level since their energy is split in half.
So, if for example one fluff was going to be born from that shard with durable levels, when its twins the level would be one lower, aka strong level. Since the majority of fluffs have average levels, twins are most often born with fragile levels.
Twins can be born with one nature or both natures . As in, one is dream and the other is nightmare.
Missing body part/senses example
As stated before, energy is what creates Dreamfluffs. However, this energy inside Dreamfluffs runs out overtime and if it reaches zero levels, they'd die. They can keep track of energy with the help of their chest holes: If the energy amount in the hole looks half, then their bodies are half filled. If the energy is not visible and the chest hole looks empty, then it means their energy is probably reaching their feet.
Having very low levels often causes the Dreamfluff to feel tired , which results in majority of Dreamfluffs consuming pearls right then and there as they cannot risk accidentally mistaking how much energy they actually have left and die.
To refill energy , fluffs consume coloured shards, commonly referred to as pearls, which is the main and only source of pure energy for them. They need 6 in total to gain their full energy back. In case of very low energy but no pearls, its common for fluffs to fall asleep in order to preserve their remaining energy during emergencies or consume normal food to give themselves fake energy to prevent their bodies from shattering.
The levels bellow are to see how long your OC's energy last before needing to consume pearls. You can choose whichever you please for your character and it does not have to match their magic levels (so you can for example make someone with a weak body whose energy runs out fast be an expert in magic). Mix and match if you want and have fun! The days mentioned are according to the species' calendar .A day their energy will be 1% and would need pearls asap or they will shatter.
Fluffs whose energy is weaker than the average so their energy runs out faster, their body needing double the pearl amount to keep up and not die. Their energy lasts for 15 days (almost half a moon) before it starts draining at a fast pace. 15th day is when their energy would be at 1% and would need pearls asap or they will shatter.
Basically: 1-5 days: Energy full | 6-10: Energy half | 11-14: Energy at ⅓| 15: Risk of dying
Fluffs of this kind last a bit longer than average. Charmers of this level can have maximum of 2. Their energy lasts for 46 days before it starts draining at a fast pace. On the 46th day their energy will be at 1% and would need pearls asap or they will shatter.
Basically: 1-15 days: Energy full | 16-30: Energy half | 31-45: Energy at ⅓| 46: Risk of dying
A standard fluff. Energy runs out at a slow pace. Charmers of this level can have 1 summoned being out at a time. Their energy lasts for one moon (31 days) before it starts draining at a fast pace. On the 31th day their energy will be at 1% and would need pearls asap or they will shatter.
Basically: 1-10 days: Energy full | 11-20: Energy half | 21-30: Energy at ⅓| 31: Risk of dying
These fluff’s bodies last 2 moons (62 days). On the 62th day their energy will be 1% and would need pearls asap or they will shatter. Charmers of this level can have maximum of 3 beings out.
Basically: 1-20 days: Energy full | 21-40: Energy half | 41-61: Energy at ⅓| 62: Risk of dying
Dreamfluffs have an ability called boosting where they use the existing energy within their bodies to temporarily give them a missing part or sense back, most often for battle or various tasks. Boosting can be in any area of the body as long as a fluff has trained it to be there, but majority tend to just stick to their naturally missing part/sense and do not go beyond basic use. Changing the location of your boosting is a very draining and time consuming process and fluffs that go through this hassle are usually the ones that want to join a certain job.
Energy is stored inside the whole body. When a fluff boosts an area, part of the the energy will go there in order to grow whatever part/sense is missing ( That's if you are actually missing anything visible, otherwise nothing grows ). Boosted areas in their basic form will look as the missing sense, but just like magic, if you train longer your boosting will be much stronger and can look visually as the fluff pleases .

For example, a missing arm when advanced boosted can look like a giant claw or blindness when basic boosted can mean the eyes getting a colour while seeing. Boosting like stated before is temporary because its actual energy being used and everyday fluffs tend to only use it when necessary.
Not everyone likes boosting. Some prefer not to do it because its work or are born unable to do so. There are those that have their boosting on 24/7 but in those cases, its either because the fluff has very durable energy levels and is not afraid of losing energy fast (common in Knights), or are consuming a lot of pearls in order to avoid shattering.
DreamFluffs are biologically immortal which means they do not physically age. However, once they reach 250, they will die peacefully by falling asleep. Fluffs are considered (mentally) young until 100, mature in their 100s, and old in their 200s. The more in-depth explanation is as follow:
0-50: Discovering yourself if you don't know what to do with your life
50-100: Young, usually figured what they want to do/have been doing it
125: Big birthday celebration for reaching half their lifespan
100s: Mature (closer to hitting 200 = more wiser)
200s: Wise and old
250: Dead
While not physically aging, fluffs can grow longer hair or gain facial hair and maybe show signs of eyebags/wrinkles when tired/distressed, but their bodies will not grow older. They will always look as the day they were born (unless they are babies who will need to grow then stop aging)
Natural death refers to when a fluff reaches 250 years old. The fluff will start feeling very tired when its close to their 250th year, wanting to lie down and fall asleep in the moment. Loved ones will take the dying fluff and place them onto a bed and listen to any last words.
When the fluff closes it's eyes and dies, it will start turning to dust until there is no more of their body left but just dust. It's said that the fluff sees a sweet dream for the first time before their bodies perishes, but no one knows if its true.
Depending on the place, what happens to the dusted body varies. Some might scatter the sparkly dust into the wind, others might let the body drift to sea before the body turns into dust and more. One thing is for sure however: This is the only natural death for them.
The main way for a Dreamfluff to die is from a lack of energy. This type of death is the scariest for Dreamfluffs as unlike other species that can survive death, the moment a Dreamfluff reaches zero energy levels, they will shatter. No warning, no nothing, the moment the body is to 0, they shatter. Only an empty body will remain behind that then turns into dust after a few hours.
This death is called "the hollow death" as the body is literally hollow when it shatters . This is the only death considered "natural". How severe the body looks when shattered is up to you. Some shatters might be simple and others might have the body full-on gone , the latter usually common if the fluff didn't ate pearls as much and lived off normal food.
The expression of the fluff will be the last expression they had before they shattered.
Hollow and natural death isn't the only type of death found among the species. A Dreamfluff can die by falling off high places or being attacked for example, and these types of deaths look visually different depending on situation.
Instead of a hollow body you are met with a body leaking out energy. The body will then shatter when its done bleeding out, turning into dust at a much later time. Since their deaths aren't caused by dying naturally or shattering from lack of energy, these are called unnatural.
Dreamfluffs cannot die from stuff like drowning or suffocation unless the place they are in has a high amount of condensed energy their bodies cannot handle, such as the Starry Stream. In those cases the fluff will experience the sensation of drowning or suffocation. That can make them unconscious and result in death if their energy runs out while they are out cold.
Dreamfluffs might be immortal but as stated before they can die, which means they can also get injured. These injuries can easily be healed by healers or medicine imputed with pure energy, usually created and provided by healers . Trying to heal by using everyday materials will not work as plants are not made of pure energy, so unless a medicine had energy imputed in it , it will be useless.
Because of the help of healers Dreamfluffs tend to be scar-free and injury-free unless they weren't healed in time. In those cases, the damage will be permanent on the body and nothing can heal them. Any scar or injury will be the same colour as their insides.
If a Dreamfluff loses a limb it can be restored as long as its still a fresh wound otherwise it becomes permanent. Areas that have been lost can be boosted if trained to do so.
The following are sicknesses and conditions found in the Dreamfluff species which are free to be used by anyone.
A condition where a fluff's body does not consume pearls properly which results in them having lower energy than what their level should be (ex. Durable becomes Strong) .
This causes the fluff to feel physically weaker, tired, and lazier which can result in them sleeping quite often.
Fluffs with this condition need to consume double the pearl amount needed just so their energy can keep up to their body's standard level, even if they will still feel weak and fatigued.
A case where a fluff cannot boost their energy at all. This happens because they are unable to control their own energy.
A case where a fluff's physical body is in constant pain. There are painkillers that help with the pain but it's only temporary as there isn't anything that can permanently help.
Fluffs that have a hard time gathering the energy around them to use to magic. This usually means the fluff uses tools in order to assist them (ex. Wands).
Basically, there's fluffs that have clicked and are able to wield energy, but they have a hard time actually doing so (be it them not able to hold it for long periods of time or unable to grab it and manifest it. The latter is where tools help a lot)
Dreamfluffs are known to be visually diverse. Aside from main species traits they tend to be born with other traits. Bellow you can find the can and can't , you are more than welcome to ask if a trait can be used or not!
Can: Moles, vitiligo, natural body markings (shouldn't cover entire body/keep it realistic), starry/galaxy freckles, Horns (max is 5. Horns should not be huge/too long), Heterochromia, Starry hair, Gradient hair, Multi coloured hair, Shaped pupils (star, heart, slit, diamond etc), Shaped eye(s), Coloured Sclera (black, orange etc), Whole eye being the colour of your energy (this is for blind/missing an eye etc), Adorn style prosthetics/glass prosthetics, Multiple arms (4 in total max), 'Crystal' eyes (aka sparkling looking, not actual crystal), Crystals on body (if you have magic), Paws/Hooves, Wings (must be organic)
Cant: Water hair, Elemental hair in general , Different types of tail such as animal tail, Multiple eyes, Muzzle, Material skin, Material hair, Glass fluffs, Fluffs made out of other materials
