A creative writer interested in the promotion of social transformation through the written word, and an academic researcher and community builder with a passion for social justice, Bret Adrian Kaufman is a professor of English at Cypress College. He has published speculative short fiction and is working on a novel. His teaching repertoire includes courses focused on science fiction and fantasy fiction.
Bret's main interests are communing with nature, listening to music, playing guitar, singing, taking road trips, traveling to other countires, and anything else that expands his consciousness as a global citizen. Currently, he is completing a PhD in Education and Social Justice. His thesis focuses on the ways in which Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is being utilized in the California Community Colleges as a framework for community college pedagogy, praxis, and administration.
