Beau Ewan has been teaching composition and creative nonfiction at Saddleback College since 2023. Prior to that, he spent a decade as an English professor at the University of Hawai‘i’s Kapi‘olani Community College. He holds an MFA in creative nonfiction from Florida Atlantic University. His writing has appeared in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Hawai‘i Pacific Review, Honolulu Civil Beat, The MacGuffin, Poydras Review, Gold Man Review, and several surfing magazines, including Surfing, Surfer, The Surfer’s Path, Eastern Surf Magazine, and Tracks. Beau is a recipient of the University of Hawai‘i’s Francis Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. When he's not teaching, writing, or surfing, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Nathalie, and their unruly rescue dog, Nala.
