Sample assessments have been prepared by the WLDL Cadre for each Block (every 2 units) and end of semester. Teachers may use these as written or adapt as needed.
These assessments follow as much as possible the ACTFL Integrated Performance Assessments (IPA). Given the nature of distance learning classes where a teacher may be working with students at 1 or more remote school sites, where the clarity of audio may not be optimal, the interpersonal speaking assessments may be hard to complete and/or be too time-consuming. For level 1, interpersonal assessments are not included until the end of the second semester. For Novice Low students, these assessments are not the best way to assess student ability.*
