The significance of symmetries
Symmetries are very important for humans. They serve as developmental patterns in the natural world and are part of human biological history. It is our bilateral symmetry that allows us to balance and move. Symmetries in our environment (front-back, right-left, up-down, east-west, etc.) enable us to orient ourselves, move and function. Humans are built with symmetries, surrounded by symmetries, function and think with symmetries.
Symmetries are related to the abilities and functionalities that the elderly start to lose as their brain deteriorates and connections between neurons are lost. They face difficulties in orientation, balance, accuracy of movements, as well as fine motor skills. Visual coordination and memory also become impaired.
Wizzle is about symmetries. When someone solves wizzle, they exercise their mind in these very symmetries with which they function and think. That is, they exercise spatial and fine motor skills, visual coordination, memory, critical thinking, abilities and skills necessary for a person to be functional.
Wizzle is a "serious game" with applications in Medicine
These are the aspects that excited the Greek Association of Alzheimer's Disease about wizzle. It is used as a non pharmaceutical therapeutic intervention in patients with dementia and cognitive disorders. It has been incorporated into two research programs. The results of these research programs are expected to be announced.
We have designed and produced two custom Wizzle models for the "Anagennisis" Recovery and Rehabilitation Center and the Greek Association of Alzheimer's Disease.
Τhe World Health Organization showed interest in wizzle, opening new research avenues in the diagnosis and treatment of long Covid symptoms such as brain fog.
