Here, all the official Q's and their hints and solutions will be shared. Hints/solutions will be under a drop-down.
ANSWER: REVOLUTION
【Q1Hint①】 Let's treat the Xs and Os as four horizontal clusters. There are eight Xs and Os and one question mark per row; the question mark represents one letter.
【Q1Hint②】The Os indicate letters that count, while the Xs indicate letters that don't count. Let's then look at the table above as something with a vertical relationship.
【Q1Hint③】For example, out of the four rows with Xs and Os, the first one represents "S.”
ANSWER: SONG
【Q2Hint①】We must first figure out what the three flowers in the top right corner represent. From the amount of light and the direction the flowers face, what can you guess is in the top right corner?
【Q2Hint②】The sun should be in the direction the sunflower is facing. Let's put "SUN" in the top right corner. With this in mind, let's now consider what the row of flowers on the bottom right corner, which we can presume is the answer, represents. Inside the speech bubble is a row of boxes with a sequence of numbers starting from 1, 1 that have something to do with the sunflower. We can infer that the numbers become bigger because the boxes are bigger as they progress to the right.
【Q2Hint③】Let's look up what the "Fibonacci sequence" is. Numbers fit in the boxes. Let's then convert the numbers into alphabetical letters using a certain rule. We should be able to find out what the rule is by filling the corresponding flowers with "SUN.”
ANSWER: LIFE
【Q3 Hint①】Let's find out the image on the left. It seems like the key is that there are 14 lines. Let's see if we can find anything relevant online. It might be helpful to look up the words on the coat of arms.
【Q3Hint②】Let's look up the one set of 14 lines, of which there are 154, to figure out what it is. It looks like it has something to do with a poem. When you look up the words engraved in the coat of arms, you should end up with Shakespeare.
【Q3Hint③】Shakespeare's sonnets fit the description of 154 poems with 14 lines each. Let's consider the numbers on the right next. It seems like each row of numbers represents one letter.
ANSWER: ICE
【Q4Hint】
Hint ❶: It seems like only two cookies at most can be on one plate.
Hint ❷: Three plates count as one set. There are zero to two cookies on each plate. Using the number of cookies as a reference, let's convert the three plates in each set into a three-digit number.
Hint ❸: With three plates in each set, the three numbers are ternary. There are 26 different three-digit ternary numbers. The answer has eight letters.
ANSWER: PRINCESS
【Q5Hint】
Hint ❶: Let's first look at the word on the left. The illustration shows a "Flute." Once you can guess what the figure on the right is, try looking it up.
Hint ❷: The numbers indicate what number the arrow stops at as it goes through the figure. Thus, the arrow goes through the 11th, 37th, and 93rd things to make up "Flute." Now that we've understood this to a certain point, we need to find out what the figure on the right is. Doesn't it remind you of something when you look at it from afar? You've probably seen it at least once in school or in your textbook. If you know what it could be, look it up.
Hint ❸: From the example, we deduced that the arrow goes through the 11th, 37th, and 93rd thing to make up "Flute." There are only three things the arrow goes through despite there being five letters in "Flute." It doesn't look like each thing corresponds to the number of each alphabetical letter. If you break down the word "Flute" into three parts with one or two letters each, what do you think of? The figure on the right contains 118 cells as of today, 2024.
ANSWER: WISH
【Q6Hint】
Hint ❶: By looking at the design of the stuffed animals' flags, we can infer that semaphore signals must have something to do with this. Let's look it up.
Hint ❷: What's in front of the stuffed animals? The fourth letter is "U," and it looks like that's the only letter that matches the one of the letters on the stuffed animals' side. Can we make a conjecture from this?
Hint ❸: The object in front of the stuffed animals is a mirror. Let's try picturing what the stuffed animals' reflection looks like. Once you're able to identify the semaphore signals in the mirror, place the letters in the direction of the arrow.
ANSWER: GLASS
【Q7Hint】
Hint ❶: The flower on the far left seems to have the most information. Let's find out about it, as it has a characteristic that differs from the other two flowers.
Hint ❷: Let's look up what the color of the flower on the very left is called. Next, let's think about what the eight petals could mean. Four numbers are on four petals, and a four-letter word underneath—"HINT." This tells us that each petal corresponds to the alphabet.
Hint ❸: The color of the flower on the far left is hyacinth. There are eight petals, and the color is called hyacinth; the name of the color has eight letters. The numbers on the right side are RGB values. Let's look up what color hyacinth ends up as once we add and/or subtract the values.
ANSWER: GIRL
【Q8 Hint】
Hint ❶: Let's establish what the figure in the middle is. You should be able to figure it out if you look up the words surrounding the figure or do an image search. Let's first find out what should be written in the periwinkle parts.
Hint ❷: The figure is a bagua, the Early Heaven trigram. Replace the lines with black and white dots, as instructed. Once you do that, you should end up with a group of six dots. It seems like one group of six dots represent one letter.
Hint ❸: The six dots are braille.
ANSWER: MIRROR
Hint ❶: The illustration seems to be of clocks. Let's picture a regular digital clock.
Hint ❷: Aside from zero, the numbers on the clocks seem to match the number of letters on the right. For example, the clock on the very top shows the numbers 4, 6, and 6, which are three numbers in total, while the word on the right is RED, which is three letters. We can surmise that the numbers, aside from zero, correspond to the letters of something. With the clock at the top, 4 is R, 6 is E, and 6 is D. Expertise isn't required to solve this Q, but a flash of insight is vital.
Hint ❸: Let's try figuring out the law by looking at the clock on the very top. What's important is the clock's design. For instance, 04:06:06 can be read as 4 o'clock and 6 minutes and 6 seconds. They represent hour, minute, and second.
ANSWER: MIND
【Q10 Hint】
Hint ❶: There are four paint colors and a board partly painted in the center. Let's paint the rectangular board using four colors and a particular rule.
Hint ❷: The rule we want to use here is the "four color theorem." We need to fill in the blank spaces with colors without having the same ones next to each other. Once we've done that, we must identify the figure at the bottom. It looks as though there's a smaller version of the rectangular board above between the ant's head and abdomen. Let's keep in mind that purple is made up of two colors.
Hint ❸: Because there's a rectangle on the very bottom that's a smaller version of the one above, it seems like we need to fill it in with the shapes above that make up purple. Purple is a mixture of red and blue. It looks like we need to handle the shapes colored in red and blue. Try looking at the blue and red parts from a close and far distance. You should be able to see a three-digit number. It seems like certain words could be found by reading the letters inside the shapes in order.
ANSWER: ANCIENT
【Q11 Hint】
Hint ❶: First, let's fill in the small squares on the top of each number. The number of the small squares seems to correspond to the number of letters when each number is written out alphabetically.
Hint ❷: It looks like alphabetical letters belong in the white boxes. Further, the number of letters inside the "0" box and the other smaller white boxes within the numbered boxes amount to 26. There are 26 letters in the alphabet, so we can conclude that the letters are sorted into different numbered boxes by some rule. It's clear that the letters "ABCDJKLMPQY" belong in the "0" box; we should start from there.
Hint ❸: Consider the meaning of the words above the numbers. The fact that there's a space above each number to fill in must mean it's the key to solving this riddle. Let's compare all the numbers written out alphabetically above the numbers with the letters within the "0" box. We now know the letters in the "0" box represent letters used zero times in the alphabetically written numbers from 0 to 9.
ANSWER: EVENING
【Q12 Hint】
Hint❶: Let's first fill in the blank spaces. There are 11 in all. Look back on the 11 Qs that you've worked on thus far, and think about what could fit in the blank spaces. This is the last Q. We need several big ideas or flashes of inspiration. Let's keep that in mind as we figure out the answer, an English word.
Hint ❷: We need to fill in the blank spaces with answers to Qs we've solved so far. It looks like we could figure out which answer goes where by looking at the number of letters and the fact that it's in alphabetical order. Once you're done with this step, consider what "8 x 8" could mean. As you filled in the blank spaces, did you see something that was 8 x 8?
Hint❸: There was something that fits the 8 x 8 description in one of the past Qs. Let's then pick out the alphabetical letters corresponding to the six words. Move to the next step in the middle of the page once you're done. A particular word will arise once you only pick out the numbered parts with the answers filled in.
ANSWER: ANIMATION
