Buy our E-book, Let's Knit Caps. This helps us to raise funds for our project. There are almost two dozens patterns to learn in this book.
Sunita Giri is the team Leader of the Winter Project. She started it in 2015 all by herself and she has built a very small but very devoted team to make it happen year after year. She is also the writer of the E-Book, Let's Knit Caps. Besides she is a Blogger, Designer and freelance writer.
Alice Schulman joined the team as a donor last year and then she became the Editor and Publisher of our E-Book, Let's knit Caps. Now she is the vital part of the project and a core member of our small team of five. Alice continues to send us all her support from California, USA.
Ekta joined our efforts last year and no one had ever helped me make wool balls but her, never before. I have had many volunteers in the past but they came and went but Ekta has helped me make more wool balls than all the volunteers combined in five years. Plus she also helps me finish caps and neck warmers. In the beginning she was fascinated with the knitting skill and wanted to learn how to knit and make caps. Oh, yes despite my doubts she learned how to knit and in a month she stared making what she needs for her and made lots of caps for her friends and family members. When Corona and lock down halted her work life she used the time to make a blanket for her which was on hold due to her busy life.
Ekta has a Masters degree under her belt and is a school teacher. She is also on the Executive Board of the school management. Here we live next door but originally she is from Biratnagar.
Debra joined our team in the beginning of 2018 as a supporter for a children home. As year pass by she stood close by to support this project. Since then she has been supporting our project continuously. Primarily, she is the one who takes care of our Facebook promotions. She is the boss in this area but the best part is she consult about the post promotion which gives us work with our targeted audience. In 2018 and 2019 this was the only who was handling this area all by herself, hoping such promotion will send local supporters for our project. Thank God, in 2020 Alice joined her.
Debra is also the one who led global fund raise campaign to help build a home of their own for a children home which is located remote part of the country, Simikote, Humla, Nepal. Debra is from Auckland, New Zealand.
Susmi is our official knitter, the only paid member in our team. She joined us in the beginning of 2020, however, it seems she will make more than 50% of the warmers this year other than blankets. The best part of her is she can knit tirelessly and this Corona break gave her a chance to focus entirely on her knitting. She is very fast in learning and also fast in making caps and neck warmers. Her hunger to learn more and more patterns is what makes her learn fast.
Susmi is a Kindergarten School Teacher. She is also a mother of two young boys. As a daughter-in-law she has to do all the cooking and cleaning work in her home yet she she finds time to knits enough to keep her busy all the time. She also teaches other keen knitters in her area and picks up the good ones for our project. She lives in Bhaktapur.
