Jan'18 : Puhoi, just another great valley in NZ. This is part of the Te Aroha walking track. 12 folks turned up and did a 10km return walk in pristine forest and in the cool shade of the natural umbrella although the day was very hot. Welcome to Dylan, see you again.
Feb'18 - Mangamangaroa trail, Howick. Windsor Park Tramping had a wonderful outing yesterday, walking the Managmangaroa trail. 33 folks rocked up and tackled a very worn and washed out track, we even had to cut down branches. Welcome to all our teenagers, especially the German import Phillip. Only did 7 km in total, but it was slow going through the mud and bush and the views - spectacular. Amazing to have such beauty so close to Auckland.
Mar'18 - Just another fantastic day in paradise, 9 km walked in dry weather with a little cloud cover. Our international exposure is growing, all in all 25 walkers today. Welcome to the new ones too many to mention. Duder Regional Park is definitely one our best scenic walks around Auckland. Total walking time today was 3 hours and then off for a coffee and hot chips on Maraetai beachfront.
2 Apr'18, WPBC tramping on the move today, great weather to be out and about. Puhinui Reserve, 8km.
Apr'18 Karangahake Gorge scenic route, 25 great souls, reasonable weather and amazing fellowship. Thanks to all that came, also welcome to Phillip, Debbie, Darya and all the other newbies. Thanks to the drivers that took on the long road in the rain.
May'18 Mount Tamahanga . Great crowd of trampers today, good yummy mud and lots of sunshine, views and good company. Thanks to all 20 that made it to Mount Tamahunga, Matakana, short 6km walk, but 500m elevation. Lots of slips and slides but no bad falls.
Jun'18 Did some great tramping with Windsor Park Tramping today, the Matakana-Ohama trail (12km). Not many takers on this beautiful sunny day with great views down on to Omaha basin. Stopped over at James & Morrison for coffee and then back home. Thanks to all that made it.
Jul'18 Te Atiu Creek - Windsor Park Tramping had their real mud experience today with a 12km tramp at Te Atiu Creek up Wellsford way. 16 adventurous trampers had such fun, watching a sheep give birth and generally mucking around in the mud in a seriously beautiful part of Kaipara Harbour. Thanks to all in making it a wonderful day together and no one complained about the mud.
Aug'18 - WPBC tramping group had a great outing today to the south east of Auckland, Maraetai, walking along the Hauraki coastline for 12km. Starting off wet and windy, the weather was kind to us and the day turned out super, even had some dolphin spotting. Thanks to all 16 who made it a great outing and welcome to the newbies
Sep'18 - Wenderholm Regional Park: this is a great park for bush walks and beach walks in one. 19 of us got out and did 8km around Wenderholm in sunny conditions, starting to feel the sun now.
Oct'18 - Awhitu Regional Park and Manukau Heads lighthouse visit. Stunning weather, 21 people rocked up for a days walk on the peninsula, pristine waters and surroundings right across from a million Aucklanders. Thanks for coming.
Nov'18 - Te Atatu peninsula. I never knew about this one so we tried the 8km around the peninsula walk. Great weather and great folks. Welcome to the newbies. 15 attended.
Dec'18 - Coastal Walk, Mangere. Windsor Park Tramping out and about today in Mangere doing the Coastal Walk including Puketutu island. I never seem to run out of great places. Thanks Petrus for a brief overview of the operations around the island. Well done to the 15 energetic folks that came along on this sunny day.
