My Response

This is through LegalShield, where you pay $25 a month or so for lawyers to do things like send shitty, inaccurate letters. After multiple tries, the esteemed Mr. Horgan refused to answer my calls about how I could respond to John Farmer de la Torre. That's why I decided to respond publicly. I reckoned if I was going to go through all of that trouble, I might as well lay out some of the evidence to show why I (and thousands of voters) had no faith in John Farmer de la Torre's ability to represent the people or campaign against Republican opponent Billy Long. With no further ado, below is my formal response to his cease and desist letter.

It's not defamation when it is true.

3. that identifies the plaintiff

5. that is published with the requisite degree of fault, and

6. damages the plaintiff's reputation

2. Which is not defamatory because it's true and backed up with quotes directly from John Farmer de la Torre

3. In which he is identified, because they are his words and/or the words of his staff speaking on his behalf with no attempt from John to correct or amend any lies

4. That is true and backed up with quotes directly from John Farmer de la Torre

5. In which there is no fault or negligence because the words/actions belong to John Farmer de la Torre himself

6. His reputation was not harmed by me but by his own words and actions

Dear John Farmer de la Torre:

Your pitiful attempt to silence me has failed. Threatening defamation of character means very little when your lies are collected in one place for all to see. Because you cannot seem to keep my name out of your mouth, and you absolutely have told lies about me and others, it's ironic that you want to play victim when you cannot provide proof that any of us were less than forthright while expressing our concerns about you and your chances to defeat a formidable incumbent. Yet you are a proven liar, and your own words have come back to haunt you. This site exists solely to tell the truth, and it is not a good look on you. But that is your problem, and not in the least bit mine.

I find you to be a mewling turd of a man. A pitiful example of a power grabber who is so out of control that his campaign imploded from the lies and unnecessary aggression. At one time you were a favorite, and you sank yourself through your own actions. You are brittle, fragile and incapable of coming to terms with your own failures. You would like to blame others, but we did not make you lie about your degree. We did not make you claim absurd accomplishments like circumnavigating the globe solo on your resume. We did not twist your arm and force you to make an ass of yourself on social media time and time again by insulting citizens, spinning conspiracy theories, and running such a negative campaign that many people refused to be associated with you. Your conduct was disgraceful and your character told the story of who you really are.

I think you are a coward, and delusional. Your actions do not live up to your words, and every time you had a chance to redeem yourself you pissed it away on childish actions, like a cease and desist letter sent to people who long since forgot you exist. You are only a legend in your own mind. To the rest of us, you are nothing but a failed candidate that we haven't thought about in months.

Just because you don't like the truth doesn't mean it isn't true. Through your own quotes, tweets and posts you ruined your own campaign and reputation. When I said you lied about your degree, I provided evidence. When I said you misrepresented yourself, I provided evidence. When I called you an asshole... well, that was just my opinion, but given your actions I stand by my assessment.

If you try to sue me for telling the truth, I will come after you for my costs and every penny I can for principle. I didn't lie, and I have proven it. I proved it right here, as this entire site serves as my response to your stupidity.

In closing, I would like to sum up my truest feelings in two words and many syllables: FuuuUUUuuuUUUuuuUUUck you.
