Ashni Biyani born and brought up in Mumbai, Ashni is passionate about studying human behavior, sociology and mythologies and is a student of Hindustani classical music and Kathak. Graduated as a textile designer at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bangalore, Ashni has attended courses on scenario planning at New York’s Parsons School of Design and the Summer Institute of General Management at Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Ashni Biyani has been instrumental in bringing in design-led thinking within the group’s business decision making.
Ashni Biyani is associated with Future Group, a young and dynamic business house present in multiple businesses across the Indian consumption space. The retail business of the group operates some of India’s most popular chains like Big Bazaar, Pantaloons, Central and Home Town that attract over 200 million customers annually.
She serves as the Director of Future Ideas-an idea consultancy bringing insights and driving strategic thoughts for business and society. She leads a team that understands the nuances of the Indian consumers and maps behavioral shifts of consumers and communities. Ashni has led the conceptualization and launch of a number of the group’s retail formats.
Future Ideas in her leadership has worked on projects for retailers overseas as well and has conceptualized new formats and implemented strategic projects. Amongst many other projects the team is currently engaged in an assessment study for the Ministry of Social Welfare and Empowerment and in assignment to build purpose and direction for a planned city in India.
Ashni has helped conceptualize and create “Holii” a fashion accessories brand in partnership with Hidesign. Designed for the various avatars of theIndian woman, Holii is inspired by India and the various textures, festivals, colours, materials.
