Jacob Moser

Jacob Moser was probably born in Switzerland, his self-reported birth year ranges from 1826 to 1834.

In the 1860 census his age was reported as 34 and birthplace as Switzerland.

Unfortunately, two additional, different, birth years and birth places are reported in the 1870 and 1880 census records.

Marion Township, Owen County, Indiana. Marion Township is on the far left (western) side of Owen county.

Sometime after 1875 Jacob's wife Maria passes away (or leaves) after John is born. I have not found any death information for her yet. In the 1870 census Jacob is the only adult in the house and there are three children. If you look at the top of the page there is a two year old child named Edward Noglebaugh, in the household of Elizabeth Noglebaugh. Edward is Jacob's youngest child, and my ancestor.
