Weymouth Chess Congress

This event was run by Cornwall Chess 4U at the Rembrandt Hotel off the Dorchester Road leading into Weymouth and just a short distance from the Beach.   It was very well attended and the event will be repeated in October next year.  Full details of the winners can be found here  Weymouth Chess Congress Results - Dorset Chess 

The event was well supported by Weymouth players with Allan Pleasants, Ronnie Burton, Ken Jackson, Andre LaBouchardiere, Thomas Merchant and Kaifer Rait-McDonald all taking part.  I was fortunate in that I should have lost two games, whilst Andre had a great start but was unable to maintain the momentum.  Thomas and Ken found it tough going in their first tournament and maybe it was a step too far too soon.  Kaifer did well in his section and comfortably held his own.
