Sept 8-11

Context:

This week you will be heading "back to school" and many of you are learning from home. If you are a We Connect student, you are blending the two learning worlds and learning in multiple spaces. This is the beginning of the #WalkMyWorld project for 2020-2021. We are going to learn about each others' "worlds" together.

For September 8-11, I hope to inspire you with a song by a Canadian teen.

The following song by Canadian 17 year old Scarlett Graham is about what "home" is for her. She sings about how her transient lifestyle and living through Covid has made her think about what home looks and feels like for her as an individual.

Listen to any of the songs, but Fremantle and Marron really focus on the concept of home.

Possible Questions:

Some possible questions to think about as you listen to this song:

When you think about idea of learning from home, how does it make you feel? Some people may feel safe because they are home in a safe space away from the problems in the world. Some people may feel anxious because they are away from their friends and the "regular" school. Other stresses may include having limited time, access to the Internet or people around interrupting and invading their learning space. What is your ideal home learning space? What are you thinking about as you organize and prepare "learning from home? "
