The school ski season is from mid-November through mid-February.
Practices are scheduled from Monday through Friday 3:30 pm – 5:30 or 6:00 pm and on alternating Saturday mornings until mid January at which time practices will be every Saturday morning (check Coach Cran's weekly e-mail (usually on Sunday) for actual times).
A. Prior to snow:
Monday through Friday practice at the high school.
There is no shuttle bus for the middle school skiers, so they will need to be driven to practice during the first few weeks.
If assistance is needed to connect with other parents for carpooling, please email Peggy (peggyskiba@gmail.com).
Middle schoolers will join the high schoolers when they arrive (hopefully, by 4:30 pm).
B. When on snow:
Mondays (with a couple exceptions) and Fridays:
9-12th grade skiers will depart the high school to 3:30 pm.
Middle school skiers can either practice at the high school or arrange for a ride to meet up with the team at the practice venue and ride home with the team.
Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays: are either race days or practice days.
*Check Coach Cran's weekly e-mail (usually on Sunday) that will specify which day(s) will be race versus practice day(s).*
Race days:
The team bus will pick up skiers at all 3 schools (Coach Cran will specify the bus pick-up times in the weekly e-mail or a day or two before each race.)
Practice days:
Middle schoolers will ride with the team to practice.
The bus will depart the high school at approximately 3:50; Central at 4 pm, and Mariner around 4:15 pm and head out to the practice venue.
Practice will end at 6 pm and we should be back at the high school by 6:30 pm.
C. Saturday practices:
Plan to practice every other Saturday (up until January) and then every Saturday as we move into the last phase of the season.
May alternate the Saturdays between morning and afternoon practices.
9-12th grade skiers are expected to practice on Saturdays and the middle schoolers are certainly welcome as well.
No buses are available for Saturday practices.
If there is enough natural snow, the team may try different venues. If not, the team will meet at Battle Creek Recreation Center site .
(The parking lot for Battle Creek Recreation Center is located on 75 Winthrop Street South, St Paul MN 55119 and is just south of Upper Afton Road in St. Paul. This is not the 2300 Upper Afton Rd, Maplewood location)
Must have the Ramsey County Ski Pass - contact Coach Cran if any questions.
Skiers MUST bring their skies home on Friday so they have them for Saturday practice.

To race or not to race – that is a good question…
• You race when you feel that you are ready to and want to race.
• If a skier chooses to just practice and not to race, that is their choice and it will be honored and respected.
