The 2nd Online Training Session, a tremendous success! 28/2/23

In the training session held yesterday, 27th February 2023, we were delighted to host 224 women from 23 different countries, using the RealBridge platform. Your responses and comments show that the session was very successful and valuable for you, which is very encouraging for us.

We would like to thank all who made it possible for you to partake in this event:  the Women's Coordinators, RealBridge managers: Shireen Mohandes and Andy Bowles, the operators and TDs: Franck Busselier, Paola Gennaro, Elaine Kay, and Linnea Edlund and last but not least, our thanks to Marion Michielsen, without whom the training would not have been as successful as it was – thank you for honoring us with your presence and for your enlightening, enriching, eye-opening analysis of the hands played.

The next training session is planned for 20th March 2023 at 19:30 CET, and this time our special guest coach will be the legendary Sally Brock. Details to follow shortly.

====================

Mary Kelly Rogers - "The teams tonight were most enjoyable and Marion's analysis was superb. What an opportunity to witness the thought process of such a star and champion!".

Sus Vang - "I think this is approximately the best thing that has happened to bridge in a very long time. Thank you for organizing, maintaining and helping to all of you".

Susanne Levin - "Such a generous opportunity, just Loved it! Thanks".

Prof dr Gorana Mitić, MD, PhD - "On behalf of the Serbian team, I want to thank you personally, and also to all of your coworkers who participate in the organization of the training session. It was really fantastic experience; everything went so smoothly and in time. Do I have to stress how fantastic Marion Michielsen was 🙂? Just perfect. Thanks for such a great time and for the opportunity to expand our bridge skils. We are looking forward to participating in the next training".

NEW! "Sunday Slam Zone"

We are very pleased to see that the Online Training Program that we initiated, which is supervised by the EBL's WBC, is encouraging creative thinking and creating new opportunities for promoting women's bridge skills.

Recently RealBridge contacted us with the offer to open an additional practice channel at no charge:

"Sunday Slam Zone", on Sunday 5th February, 2023 at 17:30 CET.

You can participate and play 8 boards with your partner. The deals focus on Slams. Each deal has a written commentary: a typical auction and a recommended line of play. (You will see this at the end of each deal). Please take not that it is essential that you join with your partner. This person can be any female partner, not necessarily the player you plan to play with in our special training sessions.

You are welcome to register by clicking here.

Please note that this offer is not connected to our main online training program for women, and, therefore, it is unsupervised by the EBL'S WBC. Needless to say, we welcome opportunities such as this, as our prime goal is to provide as many practice opportunities, free of charge, for our women's bridge community

2nd Online Training Session - February 27th, 2023 at 19:30 CET

The second session will be delivered by  Marion Michielsen, a Dutch-Swedish professional bridge player. Get ready!

NEW! Women's Champions' Cup (WCC)

At the end of the 2nd week of November, every year, the EBL conducts the European Champions' Cup.

Last year, of the 12 teams participating (72 players), there were only 2 women. This we have to CHANGE!

So this year we will conduct a designated competition -The  European Women's Champion's Cup (WCC), which will take place at the same time.  The aim being to allow women to partake in the international arena in a friendly environment and to broaden the spectrum for women to participate.

8 teams will partake in this designated competition7 teams will represent the NBOs who were ranked in the first 7 places, in the recent European Championship held in Madeira as well as another team representing the host country:

POLAND | SWEDEN | ISRAEL | GERMANY | FRANCE | DENMARK | TURKIYE + HOST COUNTRY

The WBC ensured that the entry fees will be waved for women's teams participating in this competition.

To select a team the NBO must conduct a designated competition for women's teams only.

We will update you with further information once as we go along.

Meanwhile, start preparing - it's going to be AMAZING!

Online Training Program for Women

The European Women's Bridge Committee (WBC) is delighted to invite female bridge players, to participate in a Special Training Program, which has been specifically adapted to enable you to improve your bridge skills and take you to the next level.

We believe in you and are well aware that each and every one of you has the ability to succeed. However, you may sometimes be held back by barriers that prevent you from investing in yourselves and achieving your potential.

That's why we decided to meet the challenge head on and afford this wonderful opportunity for any woman who believes in herself and wants to get ahead and succeed in Bridge, to practice comfortably online, once a month, with the guidance of some of the best Bridge experts.

We will work towards boosting your self-confidence, so that you can fit into the highest level of Bridge in your country, and feel comfortable and confident to partake in the EBL International competitions in the category of your choice.

The training sessions will take place on the RealBridge platform, but we have arranged that it will be FREE OF CHARGE! So, don't miss this opportunity. See more information here

First Session -  a Huge Success

2022-01-16
More than 200 women participated in the first training session (16th of January 2023).

We consider this a huge success.

We all gained experience from this session, but we want to make sure the next one will be smoother.

The participants are kindly requested to respond to this survey .

We couldn't have pulled this off without the enthusiasm of the players and participants, but mainly those who contributed greatly to this project, especially:

Shireen Mohandes from RealBridge (phenomenal woman)

Linnea Edlund (Amazing women with a great heart)

Katarzyna Dufrat (So professional and inspiring)

Franck Busselier, Elaine Kay and others. Thank you!
