Oryah is the Chair of the EBL Women’s Committee and has served on the EBL Executive Committee since 2022. Previously, she was the CEO of the Israeli Bridge Federation (2013–2023), following 4 years as its Youth Coordinator.
She developed 2 educational booklets for youth bridge instructors, translated into English and distributed to NBOs worldwide.
A long-time advocate for women in bridge and founder of Israel’s Elite Project for young girls – which produced world champions – Oryah is dedicated to ensuring equal conditions and visibility for the women’s category across all EBL events.
Under her leadership, the Committee focuses on encouraging more women to take the leap into top-level competition, offering a free online training program for women, supporting national projects through the Women’s Fund, promoting youth engagement, and building a strong, empowered community of women players, organizers, and leaders.
Emmanuelle is a French Bridge player for almost 30 years.
Having started at the bottom, she reached top level bridge a few years ago but decided to be involved in the development of bridge in her country through various actions mostly by promoting French festivals and recently in setting cooperation between NBOs : helping to develop bridge for young people and now bridge for women through this Committee.
Ida is 28 years old, a Swedish bridge enthusiast. She started playing bridge when she was 11 and haven’t been able to stop since. Ida is a lawyer, currently working as a junior judge in a District Court in the Stockholm area. She debuted in international bridge when she was 12 years old and have since then been fortunate enough to frequently participate in European and World Championships representing Sweden.
Ida was elected as a member of the EBL's Executive Committee and represents a voice for the players. She has a broad experience of what it means to be a female bridge player and the special challenges that comes with that, both within a bridge community in general and within international competitive bridge. Her vision is to inspire more female players to take the step into high level competitive bridge, and to help them feel that they have a rightful place there. She believes bridge on all levels should be enjoyable for everyone participating.
Ian is a Bridge player and was the Chairman of the English Bridge Union, since 2019 until 2023.
He was the manager of a law firm until it closed down during Covid.
During Covid he became involved in dealing with the landslide of online cheating.
He was elected for the Executive Committee in June 2022, and was happy to be the first man who joins the Women's Bridge Committee, where he brings an important male perspective to the table.
Angeliki is a passionate promoter of women’s bridge in Greece since she began playing in 1998.
She currently serves as President of the Agia Paraskevi Bridge Club in Athens and is an ACBL-certified teacher and director. She has represented Greece twice on the Women’s National Team and is actively involved in organizing and promoting women's bridge activities as the national Women’s Coordinator.
Angeliki has also served as Secretary General of the Hellenic Bridge Federation and participated in several European and international events as a player and TD. With a strong background in journalism and event production, she brings a wealth of organizational and leadership experience to the Committee.
Sofija is a digital professional with over 14 years of international experience in web design, UX/UI, and online systems management. Through her company, AltmansWeb, she has worked with clients worldwide on WordPress, WooCommerce, and web hosting platforms.
In 2024, with the support of the Serbian Bridge Association, Sofija launched a multilingual website dedicated to promoting women’s bridge in Serbia and the surrounding region. The site provides accessible information in several Balkan languages about bridge in general, the Women’s Online Championship, and the EBL training program – helping to engage women who had limited exposure to these opportunities.
Sofija brings a strong commitment to using her digital expertise to raise awareness and expand participation in women’s bridge, and hopes to contribute to building a regional platform through the EBL Women’s Committee.
