Beginners’ Courses at Waveney Beekeepers’ Group (WBG)
The WBG beginners’ course has many advantages for the new beekeeper: -
· A six-week introductory course that covers all the theory related to beekeeping, and includes a practical session held on a Saturday morning.
· Excellent feedback from previous participants on the course, saying how there’s a good mix of theory and practical, as well as a very knowledgeable and friendly team of teachers.
· It provides membership of the Waveney Beekeepers Group (WBG) including access to our member events held throughout the year.
· It provides membership of The British Beekeepers Association (BBKA), which includes public liability insurance.
· It provides membership of Suffolk Beekeepers’ Association (Suffolk BKA).
· Access to WBG’s regular ‘Sunday Surgeries’ where you can have hands on experience with maintaining the group’s apiaries. Face to face contact with existing beekeepers who can answer your questions and guide you through the practical aspects of beekeeping and help you develop your handling skills with bees.
· Mentors who can help on a closer basis where required.
· Commercial and hobbyist beekeepers who can advise you on many beekeeping related items.
· Meet other members who breed queens, supply equipment or other beekeeping related items.
