WYSO SPORT SCHEDULES
**Please note that these are general schedules and they may change depending on the leagues we enter and availability of the coaches.
For specific questions about each sport, email the director of that sport (see Our Board).
Baseball
Tball and Coach Pitch:
T-ball program is for boys and girls ages 4, 5, and 6 as of May 1st.
Practice starts middle of May
Games start the first or second week in June and go until mid/end of July. Tball games are Tuesdays, Coach Pitch games are Monday and/or Thursday.
American League/National League:
American League is open to boys and girls in 3rd and 4th grades, this current school year.
National League is open to boys and girls in 5th and 6th grades, this current school year.
Plan for practices to start in April (coach and weather dependent). Games start mid May and go until mid July. AL games are Tuesday and/or Thursday. NL games are Monday and/or Wednesday.
Teeners:
Teener League is open to players who are or will be 13 or 14 years old by May of 2024.
Practice starts mid to late May. Games will be Monday through Thursday and are still yet to be determined.
High School Baseball:
Our high school team is open to players that are entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. Games will be double headers on Mondays and/or Wednesdays with some other games filled in. There will be an end of the season tournament for the teams that finish in the top half.
Players will provide their own pants.
Basketball
Boys Basketball:
Practice starts beginning/mid December
Games start beginning/mid January and go until mid Feb. Games are Saturdays.
Girls Basketball:
Practice starts early to mid of October
Games start end of October/beginning of November and go until mid of December. Games are on Saturdays.
Football
Flag Football:
Practice begins mid/late August
Games start the first week in September and go until mid October. Games are on Mondays/Wednesdays.
Tackle Football:
Practice begins at the beginning of August.
Games start at the end of August/first week in September and go until mid October. Games for 5th/6th grade are on Tuesdays. Games for 7th/8th grade are on Thursdays.
Soccer
SPRING SOCCER- AGE 3 AND 4
The season will be 8 weeks long from March to June. Games will be Waterloo vs. Waterloo and
likely held on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Equipment to be provided by parents--shorts or pants and soccer socks. Soccer cleats are
suggested, but not required. Please no metal cleats, baseball, or football cleats.
SPRING SOCCER 5K-8 TH GRADE
The season will be 8 weeks long from March to June. Games will be Waterloo vs. Waterloo, with
the possibility of games versus other organizations through MAYSA. Games will likely be on
Saturdays and/or Sundays, with the possibility of a game during the week. Travel may be
involved.
We might be paired with Sun Prairie’s soccer program. What that means for our team is that the
players who would like to play more games can do so through both programs, Waterloo and
Sun Prairie, in a non-league match.
Equipment to be provided by parents includes shorts or pants and soccer socks. Soccer cleats
are suggested, but not required. Please no metal cleats like baseball or football cleats.
Softball
Introduction to Softball:
Introduction to Softball for girls in kindergarten to 2nd Grade. Kindergarteners are welcome after1 year of T-ball. Girls in 2nd grade wishing to play up a level in league will be at the discretion ofthe director. Please contact the director prior to registration and payment.
Girls will start by attending practices focused on fundamentals and skill development. Players will then be divided into "teams" and participate in modified games amongst each other. Thisprogram is held locally and will not involve any travel. This year we will utilize the pitchingmachine at practices.
Softball:
This registration is intended for all girls interested in playing 8u machine pitch through High School (16U) Recreational Softball. These teams are involved in league play that involves some travel.
Players need to provide yellow socks, black belt, and black pants.
Practice starts beginning/mid May. Games start in beginning/mid June and go until mid/end July.
**Please note that this is subject to change depending on what league we are in.
Volleyball
Fall season :
for 3rd/4th & 5th/6th grades
practice starts near the end of August. Games will start mid September and go until beginning/mid October. Games are typically on Wednesdays.
Games for k-2 will be scrimmages against each other with the day of the week dependent on the coach and availability.
Spring season
This is for grades 5th through 8th.
Practices start at the beginning of February and are dependent on gym availability and the coach’s availability. There are tournaments every Sunday starting at the end of February and ending around spring break time.
Travel Volleyball:
Practice will start near the end of August. Games are typically played on Sundays. The location is typically in New Berlin. Games will begin the weekend after Labor Day and typically go through the last weekend in October.
Wrestling
Wrestling Season will begin mid-November and run through the second to last week of February. Practices are on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:30 pm in the High School Gym. Coaches and the director choose tournaments to go to throughout the season, participation in each is not required but always encouraged.
REGISTRATION OPTION 1: INTRO TO WRESTLING K-8TH GRADE
*Registration DOES NOT include a USA card!
This is a perfect option for first year participants wanting to give it a try. You participate in practices and can choose to participate in tournaments that do not require a USA Card.
*You can always pay the buy up fee, if you want to receive a USA Card.
REGISTRATION OPTION 2: WRESTLING WITH USA CARD K-8TH GRADE
Registration INCLUDES a USA Wrestling Card.
