My research focuses on carbon cycling in aquatic environments, particularly the behavior and role of “old carbon” embedded within the modern carbon cycle. I investigate land–ocean interactions at the macroscopic scale and material cycling at the sediment–water interface at the microscopic scale. My research primarily relies on isotope geochemical approaches, and I aim to further advance our understanding of aquatic carbon cycling by integrating perspectives from organic geochemistry. 

水圏における炭素循環を主な研究対象としており、特に現代の炭素循環の中に混在する「古い炭素」の挙動とその役割に関心を持っています。マクロスケールでは陸域と海洋の相互作用、ミクロスケールでは堆積物と水間の物質循環に関心があります。同位体地球化学的手法を主なアプローチとして研究を進めており、今後は有機地球化学的視点も取り入れることで、水圏における炭素循環の理解をさらに深めたいと考えています。 （最終更新日：2026年3月11日）
