E2 on their first real job, even such a serious one at that: to say they were nervous is a complete understatement
E1 is already awaiting their "enemy" to arrive
"ey, you must me the messanger, right? im E1, the transmitter, nice to meet you" they comfortably introduce themself
E2 tries to mimic the vibe but they get a little angry by how careless E1 seems "oh, ah, my names E2, hopefully we can cooperate well" they imidiatly start looking through their notes and everything, a lot more professional than E1 who is eating chips
after a bit, they discus their notes and the higherups ideas, E2 already points out some inconsistencies in E1 s words
E1 almost carelessly correctes the notes
"please take this seriously" E2 accidentally lets out
"ive done this often enough, i know what im doing" E1 respons while writing
E2 s opinion on them starts to sour, but maybe E1 is right and they know what theyre doing
the discussions with the higherups seems to go very well, E2 has a few slipups due to nervousness but E1 takes the attention away, they themself know how difficult it can be at times
no kind of compromise could be reached, the ideas of the stubborn higherup even got more extreme : that they want the other nations folk to join them on their revolution
E1 as a transmitter also is in change to write the speeches for their higherup , since they have to include it, they also mention the nation change option to the other nation "everyone is free to leave to pursue their ideals, we want the best for out people after all", surprisingly, some people moved over
E2 is somewhat fascinated about how well E1 is doing their job, their opinion changes a little bit for the positive
many more discussions happen on every side, and it seems like there will never be a compromise, the stubborn higherup wants all the environmental space and at least 2 more higherups support+a lot more people to follow them, they cant even be pursuaded into giving up their dissagreeing folk
in the meantime, E1 and E2 are basically besties but also not really, the sibling kind of "damn, you suck-no you-wanna watch a movie?-ok loser", they annoy each other a lot, almost never crossing any lines, sometimes theyre even neglecting their work to mess around some more
E1 got "drunk" and E2 tries to throw oreos into their coke+alcohol mix
E2 was writing notes and E1 started just falling asleep and E2 gets distracted->to draw a mustache on E1
E1 keeps drawing cats in E2 s notebook
E2 teaches E1 how to dance while E1 jokingly fails miserably, resulting in room destruction
E1 keeps stealing E2 s food while they keep putting salt or vinegar into E1 s drinks, who ends up drinking it to E2 s horror
one time, E1 was "drunk" again and messed with E2: they closed E2 notebook and almost forced them to try one of their alcohol mixes, "unlike you, im not getting drunk on the job" while semi accidentally throwing the glass out of E1 s hand, resulting in breaking it
"well im not drunk" E1 snaps to acting normal
"wait what" E2 shocked "then you were fully aware of how you were acting??"
"yea, thats the point" they finish their drink
E2 packs up their stuff and storms out of the room, they request to have a private working room as neither is allowed in their sleep designated rooms outside of curfew
the next day they dont do their discussion, E1 waits patiently in the room, but E2 doesnt appear, so they write the notes themself
E2 does appear during the general discussion with the higherups tho, E1 is a little confused but they do what they always do
"how much longer do i have to argue with you all??" the stubborn higherup whines around
"however much longer it takes for us to reach a conclusion" the opposing higerup says
"well, what do the messangers say, do you have any idea about this? they all care so much about everything other than progress anyways" the stubborn one turns towards everyone on the messanger type job
the other sides ones say that neither has reached a conclusion either, but they think that it would be best to take it slow
E2 is the next one to speak "well, neither have we, but in my personal opinion, it doesnt seem like a full compromise needs to be reached, i think its fully possible to reach our goal in cooperation with the others, rather than in spite of them"
E1 shocked, thats not what they planned for this whole thing to go to, they always expect their opposing party to back up slowly
"see, one gets it, almost" the stubbon one says happily, then expectingly turns to E1, fully hoping on getting an agreeable answer
E1 scrambles, its obvious that theyve been taken out of their comfort zone, they look around nervously and get interupted by the stubborn higherup "i thought you were that oh so famouse E1, the one who is always one step ahead and actually is competent at their job"
"more time to discuss" E1 finally gets out, almost passing out from this uncomfortable spotlight of attention and pressure
"no" the stubborn, now annoyed higherup says "how about no more time, we will get a result right here and now or blood will spill"
the other higherups start explaining the rules of this discussion and how any kind of violence would halt the discussion for at least a day or more
"well, we re not getting anywhere anyways, why not speed it up!" the stubborn higherup snaps back, pushing anyone away and turning towards E1 "im sure it was your doing, why all of this is taking so long, you hope that i will give up, huh?!"
they attack E1, trying to stab them, but before doing much damage, they realize that E1 is protected by the law and they themself get the injury on them "hah, i should have known" they run out of the place
E1 is still on the ground, at this point they are too overwhelmed to know whats going on
E2 is pissed and scared of what will happen, they look at E1 with anger but manage to supress that and try to have a discussion with the others to prevent something very bad to occur
E1 tells them how even they didnt want this all to happen, that their closest friends are in danger and-
an assasination attempt, the hallway to the discussion room, where that one higherup ran out of, they only got hurt on a surface lvl, and since the protocol dictates it, that assignation attempt needs to be taken care of first
in the meantime, to everyones expectation, that rouge higherup is making things happen
