there was a world where 2 nations lived almost peacefully

both nations were very similar, almost identical, but then one of the higherups had heard stories of other nations

stories about how some made history by being groundbraking and such, they wanted to be just the same

that higherup immersed themselves in research of what they could do, they checked every future, current and past research

finally they decided on something, now they just had to convince their people

that didnt go well, almost everyone voted no, there were only a handfull people who were adamantly on their side

they decided to go through with their idea anyways: "let everyone fall off who cant hold on" and such

since they went about it in such a unconventional manner, they had many higherups involved, non were on their side, regardless of how overall beneficial their goal would have been

the folks well being was the most important

and rewriting the system, hurting 80% of the nation and outsiders to advance is some potentially revolutionary idea? thats not ideal
