they no longer have any kind of nation marker, they "live" wereever they work at the moment

E1 has been both a messanger and a message transmitter for a very long time, theyve whitnessed conflict after conflict, war after war, everything just melts together at some point

they have already earned enough money and resources to live for a million years in peace, but theyve come to depend on the protections of the higherups

the fact that they will always be protected, that any potential pain that would be cause to them: it gets taken care of

they could get shot into the eye and the protector law will negate the injury to the causer

the law applies to them regardles of where they are, they can even travel worlds and still be safe

in the last job in a differnt world: E1 also was very laid back, and that one was about one group having murdered many of another and threatening to kill their 2 hostages who were the partners of the best friend of the leader who had sent them there

E1 was arguably careless, but that made them also likable by said violent group, so they could come to a compromise: give back the 2 people alive, and pay back for the murders while E1 covers the money aspect (the group had some stupidly large sum of dept to pay to someone who would kill them if they didnt pay them back, and killing those 2 hostages wuold have at least automatically paid a third from reselling shit)

and now: why shouldnt the same work, just even less effort since theyre not remembering anything longterm

E1 likes to get drunk at times, not to forget or anything, they just know that regardless of what they do, they will be exempt from punishment unless they did something very suvere

so why not thread the edge of the cliff for fun >;)

they actually dont get more stupid or anything actually drunk, they use it as an excuse and have already a few times surprised some people how they "suddenly got sober" (the protection law applies to external "distractions")

actual speciffic, law avoiding poison would be needed to get them into a genuin drunk state
