Recording Your Vlog
Once you have planned the content and the style of your vlog, you will need to consider how you are going to record it.
Some essential equipment you will need to record the video will be a camera and a tripod. You could use a DLSR camera, a GoPro or even a phone. Using a tripod or even a stabilizer will stop the video footage from being shaky.
And if you want to produce a high-quality video, you may also need the following recording aids:
Lighting - artificial lighting helps to produce a sharp footage, especially when shooting indoor where the quality of light may be poor. Also using a diffuser helps to spread out light and makes bright light softer.
Microphone - a microphone is needed to record high-quality audio. Use a windshield over the microphone if you are filming in a windy location.
Editing software - the editing software will enable you to turn your raw footage into the vlog.
Apart from the editing software, you can borrow and use the DLSR camera, tripods, lighting kits and microphones for free from the Library.
Alternatively, if may also want to use the Vlogging Kit that is available for free at the Library.
What is the Vlogging Kit?
The Vlogging Kit includes the Joby GorillaPod Mobile Rig Kit with GoPro Bundle that you can borrow for a week. It is portable and includes everything you need to create a vlog.
