For this project, I had to find articles about recent cyberattacks and evaluate my sources.
This article describes a cyberattack on UPenn where many systems and data were breached, affecting the university, as well as the students themselves. Sensitive information was exposed to unauthorized personnel. Identity impersonation with social engineering was used to hack into internal systems relating to the university's development and alumni's activities, as well as data from those attending the university. Precaution could've been taken if UPenn had better security measures.

This article describes a ransomware attack on Asahi, a beer, alcohol, and food products. A ransomware attack is when malware is used to encrypt files and then a ransom payment is demanded. The attack disrupt the company's operations and the company is not yet sure if financial/personal data was acquired during the attack. To avoid this issue, antivirus protection and multi-factor authentification should be implemented.

I didn't realize that cyberattacks happened to everyone, especially schools. I always assumed that cyberattacks only happened to businesses but I guess hackers are interesting in everything.
