Digital Privacy: The extent that your data is stored, sold, assessed, used, etc. (Brightspace)
Encryption: Converting data into an unreadable, encoded format called ciphertext to prevent unauthorized access
VPN: Virtual Private Network; A service that creates a secure, encrypted connection over the Internet to protect your data and privacy
Privacy Policy: A document that explains how a company collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information of its users
Malware: Any software, hardware, or firmware intentionally designed to cause damage to a computer, server, or network
Social Engineering: A type of cybersecurity attack that manipulates people to gain access to their confidential information/systems
Phishing: Online fraud where attackers impersonate a trustworthy entity to trick people into revealing sensitive information
Ransomware: Malware that encrypts/blocks access to your apps, files, or systems until a sum of money is paid
