All right, it was another full working day for me, so I did not have that much time for my violin practice today. Nevertheless, I continued my study of vibrato. What is interesting is that you sometimes have to trace your steps backward to move forward. In the beginning, it was not working (the way it did yesterday), and I was frustrated. Then, I reviewed all the notes (mental and written), and magically, it came back! I even managed to do several completely smooth bow changes with vibrato (the moment of the bow change was practically unnoticeable!), but when I tried to make a recording of that, the magic disappeared in thin air (or maybe this is the dark magic of videotaping yourself in order to show it to the others which ruins everything:)) ).

I did a couple of string-crossing exercises (and they were much easier today than yesterday), but I did not have the time and energy to do the pieces. Instead, I "improvise" (which, in my case, means trying to play some random notes as beautifully as I can:) ). This kind of "doodling" is very meditative and helps me to relax. I will hopefully have more time for more focused and energetic practice tomorrow:).
