After my audition, I decided to rest (and I practiced for about 40 minutes doing my scale and concerto before it). But it never stops to amuse me how much you can improve the quality of your playing by taking more simple steps. And for each step, you look at what is missing, figure out how to improve it, and do it with only a few repetitions! In the case of my scale, the problem was with the shift to the fifth position (and keeping steps narrow enough to make it sound in tune). For the shift, I memorized precisely where my hand was touching the violin (both for the third and fifth positions), and once my hand was in place, my fingers automatically dropped to the right notes.

I need to add 90 minutes of the rehearsal today, and the day is full of music for me:)! I was assigned second violin (fortunately, one out of three is much better than a lonely third violin). This way, I could follow what my section was playing and copycat whatever they were doing:)). I enjoyed it a lot, and the conductor was highly professional (and a violinist himself). I learned a lot from him today:).
