The discovery that the thumb can contribute to the vibrato (instead of being passively relaxed) makes wide vibrato much easier. It is not that hard to get the feeling as the fingertip is pushed away or pulled toward the thumb and to feel that the force of friction contracts the thumb in the direction of the fingertip motion (the whole motion looks like a contracting and expanding spring). I also notice that my thumb rolls slightly on the violin's neck in the opposite direction. Anyway, I will need to make a video to clarify what is going on:)).

In the morning, I had a life lesson and was showing my second violin parts to my teacher. It took work! The best way to learn the second violin part is to listen to an entire orchestra and play along with it. And fortunately, I found such accompaniments for one of the pieces on youtube. Unfortunately, it is the easier one:)). For the second piece, there are several recordings on youtube but without the score (and looking at everybody's parts while playing your part makes it much, much easier:)) ).

I did not make my Henley's one page, but it was all string crossings, and I wanted to get a clean tone during the string crossings. Moreover, I tried to add vibrato to this, and it was screwing things:). Anyway, I spent most of my time playing my second violin part for Rimsky-Korsakov's "Snow maiden" and did not have much time for practice because of work. But there are always the weekends ahead:).
