Pediatric Clinic
I was able to be in the Pediatric Telehealth Clinic on February 22, 29, and March 14 and in the Pediatric Onsite Clinic on March 18, 25, and April 1. The SLCC OT Clinic is located at Salt Lake Community College Jordan Campus (3491 West 9000 South West Jordan, Utah) in the Health Sciences Building.
I really enjoyed getting to participate in pediatric clinic this semester. It was really helpful to be able to see things that we were learning about in class and be able to put the strategies we were learning to practical use. While running clinic I was able to practice my therapeutic use of self, adaptability, and my time-management skills among other things. The experience of observing, planning, and running treatment sessions within a safe learning environment helped in boosting my confidence in my abilities, which will benefit me in my future practice as a COTA. Participating in the OTA clinic allowed me to contribute to benefitting the community by providing OT care pro bono.
