The Environment Committee of our school continued its commitment towards sustainability and environmental awareness with engaging and impactful activities. Our school is a part of Eco Club For Mission life.
Seed Sowing Drive
As part of our green initiative, a seed sowing drive was successfully conducted in the school garden. A total of 109 seeds of indigenous plant species, including mango, litchi, and custard apple, were sown by enthusiastic students from Classes 8 and 9.
Bird Watching Activity
In another exciting venture, the Environment Committee organized a Bird Watching session within the school premises. A group of 20 students participated in the activity, where they had the opportunity to observe and identify 19 different bird species spotted around the campus. This activity fostered an appreciation for local wildlife and encouraged students to be more observant and mindful of the natural world around them.
Butterfly Garden Plantation Drive
Our Environment committee members planted 50 species of plants in the medicinal garden area, creating a haven for these beautiful creatures.
Butterfly walk
Wednesdays after school hours we had conducted butterfly walk to find whether the number of species increased after the implementation of butterfly garden in school campus.
Program was conducted in class room to educate students to segregate waste at home.
Collaborated with ITC WOW green challenge, drive waste such as paper and plastic waste collected and send it to ITC WOW team. In return students received stationaries such as pencil, pen, note book etc. We have send 1700 kgs of dry waste including metal and paper waste. As a result, carbon foot print reduced. Instead of throwing in landfills it is sent for recycling.
Water audit done by environment committee members. They checked all taps in school premises, if water leakage identified reported to supervisors to rectify the problem.
Waste audit conducted and found that more dry waste is generated during daily activities and during various events.

With a strong focus on climate-resilient agriculture, urban water sustainability, soil health, Indian Knowledge Systems, AI and ML for sustainable innovation, disaster risk reduction, and nature-based solutions, ICARS 2026 fosters meaningful dialogue,knowledge exchange, and international collaboration. The conference aims to inspire actionable strategies and partnerships that drive sustainable development and strengthen resilience at local, regional, and global levels.
BGS NPS Hulimavu presented two papers-
Ms. Chitralekha faculty of science presented a paper on "Nurturing Nature at BGSNPS" based on the theme "Biodiversity and Environmental Protection".
Aaliya Aadiya class 9 student presented a paper on "Eco Guard -A Community driven AI enabled platform for Climate Adaptation" based on the theme "Climate Change", and received the best paper presenter award.
